What are the best combinations for exhaust and intakes? I like the MBRP exhaust and the AFE intake. Are these good products. I have the juice/attitude, but want better performance. Is this the way to go? Who has good prices on these?

Those are both quality products to go with. There are lots of supporting vendors on the site that sell them.

AFE makes a great intake, I think you would be happy with it and either the MBRP or Banks exhaust. They are about the same systems and you will be pleased with the sound... Good luck..

I have 4" exhaust and AFE intake along with the Edge/Attitude on my '03 Duramax.

I did the Edge/Attitude before the intake and exhaust and I really don't feel that there was enough improvement with the intake and exhaust to warrant the expense.

It appears to me that the main advantage of the 4" exhaust is a reduction in EGT. In fact my overall fuel economy has dropped since adding the exhaust and intake both towing and non towing.

I will say that the Edge/Attitude unit works flawlessly.......

bigchev,

Why does it lose economy, I was thinking that I might pick up some? How doese it sound?

JDEERE- I believe the MBRP exhaust and AFE intake to be the best on the market. If you need any help, please let me know.

I put an MBRP T409 on my truck a couple of weeks ago and I have noticed about 1 mpg increase. It is definitely louder than the stock but I like the sound. Took a few days to get used to but now I really like it. Very easy to put on.

of course DSTRBD would recommend MBRP, he sells their stuff. it's in his own best interest.

I don't sell them, but am very happy with my MBRP T409 single 4" exhaust. Mark Craig at DPP will answer any questions you have. He sure showed a lot of patience, knowledge, and I believe honesty while answering all my questions before I decided on a system.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif

I installed a MBRP T409 cat back on my rig and love it. It took about 2-hours to remove the old and install the new. I was worried about the noise, inside and out, but this system is great. Driving at freeway speeds you hardly even here the exhaust. Street driving it, has a nice throaty soud. The EGT's are down between 150-200 degrees on the freeway. I'm packing the truck and loading the boat this weekend and I will see how temps are going up and down the Grapevine.

I bought mine from John Hamlin @ DPS(Diesel Performance Shops).

MBRP 409 single and AFE stage II for me!! Installed them both at about the same time, love the exhaust tone and the louder turbo whistlehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif!

I don't know why the mileage has decreased! I have measured it carefully (all calculations are done manually) I suppose that if you flow more air you must flow more fuel? I would be interested in knowing if anyone has the answer.

After the addition of the exhaust and intake it seems that the low end performance has been reduced as well.

It sounds great!
