: what mods to do to the 07 lbz!!!
fredw 01-25-2007, 02:31 AM i just got rid of my lb7 and hope the lbz to at least come close to what the lb7 was making for power
i have no clue or done no reading on what i need to help this motor out.... now for what i have planed is
to install the high tech turbo from my lb7 over to the lbz, not sure what is needed to be able to do this job, any help would be appreciated...
also have the driverside exhaust manifold to transfer if it fits, and 4 " exhaust..... do we need a intake upgrade!!
i heard the dual fueler will not cross over to the lbz with out some moding, any new news on this!!
what about the egr, needed or not, codes to follow!!
what tune would be the best as of now
many more questions over time, thanks for the info
Micheal Tomac 01-25-2007, 12:08 PM block the egr, re-route the pcv, lose the cat
DuramaxxedLBZ 01-25-2007, 12:12 PM If the manifold is from BD performance it will fit, I have one on my LBZ, it fits all duramax models to my knowledge. what is the pcv by the way? any info on this Tomac?

Positive Crankcase Ventilation.
I'm interested in hearing what he meant by "re-routing" it as well.
ratlover 01-25-2007, 05:48 PM Means letting it puke to atmosphere or putting an oil seporator in line and letting it go to the facotry sucking location.
Westers isnt playing with the LBZ?
EFI live is out.
Currently in canned tunes PPE is the hottest.
Intake is good but if your running a turbo you are going to need to ditch that I am betting as it wont feed it I doubt.
Block the EGR or talk to McRat about his eliminator kits.
What does blocking the egr do ?Dum ? i guess.
DuramaxxedLBZ 01-25-2007, 07:01 PM my understanding of it is that it dumps some exhaust gas into you intake/clean air to help with emissions. Exhaust Gas Recirculator
tlee05 01-26-2007, 12:22 PM Block the EGR and if you are going to run EFI live it will take care of the CEL light. I think the difference in the CP3's are the regulator and maybe the electronics. If you plan on running EFI live you can do away with the tubo vane and overboost/underboost codes, If not you will have to buy the electronics to block the codes.
fredw 01-27-2007, 02:53 AM thanks guys, need all the help i can get, westers will be a while yet, working with the gas side for a while..... ya efi might be the starter, maybe ppe, Joe informed me he has some great tunes for it
will remove the egr, and look at the crancase breather
thanks again
sweetdiesel 01-28-2007, 12:10 PM Fred, get the trans built you know this!
block egr, rerought pcv,not sure if they are shimming or need to
and remove the cat, install the lift pump(s)
PPE or EFI
i think its just a different mount for the cp3, probably different electronics though
not sure about the turbo, i am curious about this too
congrats on the new truck
fredw 01-28-2007, 04:26 PM thanks sweet
i will be swaping the 1057 converter, and mikeL is sending me the finishing touches with a few new mods
