Got the code today, says "Lost communication with transfer case shift module" seems to shift fine between 2-4 wheel drive. Just a glitch? anyone else had the code?

A co worker had this code. About two weeks later all three of the orange lights on the electronic dash control started to blink at the same time. The truck stayed in 2 wheel drive, but would not do anything else. The dash module and a part on the transfer case had to be replaced....$1100.00. The truck is a 2003.

u codes a simply put a pain in the ***. they are most often what you called a glitch, and they are very hard to duplicate as well.

I havnt had it on the 2006's yet, but in the past sometimes the module would not "wake up" when the key was turned on, can cause this code. Hard to say though.

Also remote start can sometimes be the cause of certain modules not turning on when they are supposed to and setting communication codes.
