Yes you can stack them. Run the PPE on max and the VA on the middle (90hp) setting for best results. WARNING!!! EGT's get a little out of hand quite quickly.

It'll get you ~440rwhp with a decent transmission build.

You can get the moonshine tune and have a little over 500hp..The tune is built with EFI live and it is great...I have it in my truck and drive it everyday and tow with it..It is a great over all tune..Hope this helps ya..

I got 478 with the PPE on max and VA on 90. The dyno sheet is in my garage. Like Sean said, Efi can get you over 500 and still keep driveability, etc.

The newer tunes make a good bit more power then the older tunes. You should be able to make 500RWHP...

I would also like to know what kind of numbers to expect with a PPE Hot +2 only.

I will be running a boost stick also! I dont like the idea of high hp stacks though. So I just plan on running the Hot +2 and the boost stick for lower EGT's and faster spool up.

Dan, what is different between the older and newer Hot +2 programs? Can an old porgrammer be updated with the newer tunes?

FWIW when I ran the boost stick with the PPE hot+2/VA stack the outcome was too much boost. And, AFAIK the VA wasnt adding much if any boost. So you may not need or want the boost stick, but give it a shot. Also keep in mind this was the old version of the Hot+2, it was back in 05.

I had them both stacked for some time and went threw a head gasket..The EGT's are threw the roof with that stack..I cant express to you enough that efi live tunes are the way to go..That is my opion..I can kill my truck all the time and i dont see crazy egts and it runs smoother than ANY stack..I love my Moonshine tune..Good luck with your decision..

Most EFILive vendors sell EFILive with a starter tune. McRat sells EFILive with a 500+ HP tune to get you started, and he's had a number of members who have made good progress from that tune.

Moonshine is a locked ECM that is tuned using EFILive - great for plug and play, and Tony's tunes are that well dialled in that there is rarely a need to send them back - infact I think the only reason they go back for mods is because we keep moving the goal posts with DSP2, DSP5 and TNT.

Cheers

How are EGT's just driving around town with PPE Hot+2 no stack? I know the smoke is heavy, but I actually like that for now!

Also, anyone have a dyno chart of PPE Hot +2 recent version?

The "classic" Triple Stack of Doom with the old PPE +2, VA on middle, Boost Controller set at 32PSI put out 475rwhp on Casper, 468rwhp on Blue, and ran 12.82 in Casper, and 13.1 in Blue at HRP about 2 years ago.

The new PPE Hot +2 is not the same, it has been improved. It runs lower EGT's and makes more power.

Things have changed alot since we first started hotrodding the LiLLY's, the old combos are still very potent, but there is now better stuff out there.

Yeah, saw that, but have a possible option to do a trade and some $ for my predator. If that falls through we may be in touch.

X2

I had the PPE HOT +2 old one, and the VA180 that IdahoRob loaned me along with the boost stick and it was too much boost, maybe my turbo sound BAD!
Like a damn owl!

I will be sure to take you up on that Dan.....thanks.

I think for now Im just going to run the boost stick and Hot +2 If it puts down 400+ whp and I can get into the 13's Im happy. I dont wnat to kill my truck, my motor, my turbo, or myself.

Thanks for all the input...I have found its way better to throw stuff out here than try things and regret them.

I am interested in the new PPE tunes also !! I am going to try and finally get my SCIII/1057 put in ........in about 5-6 weeks !!

I will run my Predator on 100 and see how I like it but interested in a mid-13 second tune that is reasonably safe on my motor , turbo, and SCIII (not worried about myself :p: )!! Don't want a lot of smoke either !!

With the new PPE tunes on 8 settings(350hp max) :

Does only 1-3 defuel ?

Is 6 (300 hp)a viable daily driver tune and fine on a built tranny (does it have any defuel) ?

How bad do these tunes smoke ? Would a 6 smoke out a whole intersection like the older tunes ??
