I have an SC1057, pump shim, cut back valve & transgo jr. How close will this be to a SCIII. Are the clutches the only thing that is go to be different or is there somthing else? Truck only has 8400 miles on it most are highway miles. Hope to install parts in the next week or so.

Only thing you'll be lacking is the upgraded Alto clutches and Kolene steels. The Stage III kit increases clutch count in every stack but C5--chances are your OEM clutches MAY be fine.:)

If going that far into it I would try to at least get the deal to stick an extra one into the c3's. Call TTS, suncoast or Mike L. And have some fresh OEMs ready to go in so you arnt waiting on allison to get em in if you have any that dont look good. Then return what you dont use(c1-c4, c5 should be fine)

what exactly are a pump shim and cut back valve. i am getting ready to do my trans and am wanting to know as well. so basically a converter and clutches will do it. also do i need the full trans go kit or will my jr be ok.

The shim kit & cut back valve raise the fluid pressure to the convertorif i remember right. With the 6 speed the jr. is all you need.

I asked my allsion shop and they said they would take em back if I didnt use em :think:

The shim raises your main line pressure up across the board. Normaly when your converter locks up the truck cuts the pressure way back, the cut back valve or transgo hot rod lock up valve reduces what it cuts back. The transgo valves deal with getting that pressure to the clutch packs. You can use em all in a 6 speed.
