I was driving down the street tonight when my accelerator pedal went "dead". The pedal moves fine, but no response from the engine when it is pressed. I idled it about a half-mile to a shopping center parking lot. It's still under warranty so its gonna be the dealers problem tomorrow. Any thoughts on what the problem is??

The accelerator is fly by wire, it is not connected to the engine mechaniaally. All electrucal. Most likely an electrical problem.

I had this happen to me briefly this weekend. I sat in a parking lot idling for like 20 minuets, put er in drive and hit the pedal......nothing. Pushed further and it rattled like you wouldn't believe........sounded like it was coming apart........and had a huge surge in power.......then every thing was fine for the next hour of driving...............

Happened to me on the way home from the dealer. I idled it off the hiway and shut it off. After 15 mins it started back up and worked fine. I went back to the dealer and they had to do something with the computer, works fine ever since.

THE DEALER REPLACED A "TRANSMITTER". HE DESCRIBED THE DESCRIBED IT AS A "FLY BY WIRE" TYPE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WORKS FINE NOW.
