What's the deal with this? I ordered the 6" lift from Pro Comp and was about to have it installed in a few weeks. I've been talking to a few guys with this lift and they are very unhappy. It seems that all the trucks run fine up until they hit 35mph. Then the front end vibrates like a bitch. The people landed up buying a slip yoke eliminator kit and front driveshaft from Pro Comp for an additional $850.00!!! Unbelievable!! In Can. funds with duty, tax and all that other crap it comes out to almost $1300.00!!! On top of the $2600.00 I paid for the kit.
I wanted to send the kit back but the place where I bought it from said it was a special order item and that all sales were final.
So tell me, is there any way I could cure the vibration that will happen when I get the lift put on other than buying the kit? Could I lenghthen my existing driveshaft or something? Any help you guys have will be appreciated. Nick
Have you called Pro Comp about this?

You will find that without the proper installation that the front drive shaft will vibrate. There is almost no way around this. Sorry. It just happens. When you lift the truck the angle at whichd the drive shaft normally operates is increased, so you will have vibrations. Not sure there is anything that you can do about it. You might want to contact them and see what can be done. Sorry...

Yeah I called Pro Comp and they said "Well, the salesman did sell you the right kit for your application" It seems that I wasn't the only one with this concern. The guy on the phone was telling me that they've been getting lots of calls from the northern parts of the country also. Something about "Us people up here" actually using 4wd. He was nice about everything but all he said I could do was purchase the slip yoke eliminator kit. This sucks. I shoulda went with another manufacturer for my lift. The least they could do is give me some kinda discount or something seeing as I already bought the lift kit and wasn't told about the slip yoke kit when I talked to the techs beforehand.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

Keep pushing Procomp. They only respond when enough people yell and they start to feel it in the wallet.
BTW, did you say the lift kit was $2600.00 bucks. WoW!
Hope you get satisfaction.
Rich.
I too have a 6" kit that I'm ready to install so I am a little concerned. I spoke to Kirby from Pro-Comp today and he told me this. He said vibration is an issue when using 4wd in Hi mode at speeds over 45 mph. He also said that having the Auto-Trac system may be an issue, due to the constant load on the front driveshaft. It seems the driveshaft angle is great enough to allow to stock yoke to bind, and cranking the torsion bars only aggrivates this. In any case they should have made it known to anyone considering the kit, and I told him that. I have Pro-Comp kits on two other vehicles and never had a problem with them. If you want to get in touch with Kirby, his number is 1-800-776-0767 ext. 145. By the way, I only paid $1300 for my kit with the MX-6 adjustable shocks. If anybody is interested, I still have 4 brand new ES-9000 shocks I want to sell, PM me.Edited by: BERK

HOLY BAT S*** ROBIN $2600..... you got jacked big time, front driveshaft replacement is only for auto 4X4, don't think HD's have that. And then front shaft is only about 450-500 us $, most kits give it to you free during promo periods (which is most of the time). Last one I installed we only charged around $1600 for kit. Only thing is was that cost installed?, that makes a big diff as some shops charge almost $1000 just for labor for 5 hours work.

Yeah I talked to Kirby too. Huh, small world. I'm gonna give them another call tomorrow and see what they can do for me. As for the $2600.00, that's with taxes (15%) and Canadian funds. We reallly bend over and take it hard in the wazoo up here when it comes to mods.
I really wish I knew about that damn driveshaft problem before I shelled out my hard earned cashhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif
