I use Netscape and have there home page set as my start up page.

I noticed today that they have an article about the ten best tow vehicles.

At the top of the list is the Dodge 3500. They say that the Dodge has a tow rating of over 16K and that bests the closets competitor by 2K.

According the the info and manuals that came with my truck the new LLY equipped trucks have a tow rating of 16,100.

Just wonder where these people that write these articles get there info. Or are they paid to say what certain manufacterers want them to say.

It's under Netscape Auto if anyone is interested.

Motor trend or what ever mag ran the tests of the big three diesel trucks had the GM at 12,000 towing and the others higher.

I guess they can't read the fine print w/ 5th wheels or since they weighed truck they couldn't subtract it from the GCVW and get the true towing capacity.

What I find is curious is that the Dmax 3500 4x4 regular cab SRW is rated at 16,800lbs max trailer weight and the DRW version is rated at 15,500lbs on Chevy's web site.

Duallys are heavier trucks, empty, so that takes away from the CGVWR.

They are not 1300 lbs heavier, maybe 3 or 400lbs at most because same frame, same axle with different hubs on it and maybe one more leaf too so weight is in tires, springs and fender flares.
