When the truck is at idle, the wastegate rod should be sucked into the little canister thing so that the arm is pulling whatever it is attatched to (don't know what it is called. The thing that is mounted on the side of the turbo almost all the way down that opens up.) Is this right?

By wiring the wastegate shut I would be able to find out right of if the problem lies with my boost gauge right. If I wire it shut and boost goes up fine then my proble lies in the vaccum system. That is what I got out of reading that post and a few others.
