Has anyone had a problem with their hazard/flasher switch (located on the steering column). It's one of those things you seldom use, but when you need it, you need it. I was towing some farm equipment this morning when I noticed that it wouldn't pop out like it should. The flashers blinked a few times (irregular) when I jiggled it. But I must have blown a fuse now as well. javascript:AddSmileyIcon('http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif')

If anyone has changed it out, is it very hard. I am out of the 3/36 warranty on my 2001 so might do it myself.
Don't know why something like this should break when it is used so seldom.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

My dad's 2000 broke, they replaced it under warranty, new one broke and never would pop out again... On our new trucks it works fine though..

You have to change the whole turn signal, cruise control, hazzard, headlight dimmer assembly. It's pretty easy to change but it's not real cheap. You might have to take the steering wheel off if you can't get at the torx bolt on the front. I can't remember for sure but I know I have done some gm vehicles without pulling the wheel. I am pretty sure you will have to pull it on the trucks though.

I think this is the part # 26090412 But you better have it double checked.

Thanks for the replies.
I took the cover off and saw the whole assembly. I think it will be easy to replace. But I forgot that the cruise control is built in as well. So I am sure it will be $$$$$$$.
