I bought my Transgo Jr about 6 weeks ago from Mike L. Every weekend something would come up. Finally got it in about 2 hours ago. Very first drive truck shifted great. I expected It to shift bad for at least a day or two but It didn't. Install was not that bad. My advise to anyone that wants to do this mod on there on is get a good clean work place, remember where every thing came from and take your time. One thing that through me was the two selenoids I got them mixed up. The directions that came with the kit said one had a green o-ring and one had a black o-ring, mine were both green. I then went to the computer and pulled up the sticky on the Transgo Jr install and in one of the pictures I could see one of the plugs was black and the other was a light colour. So the sticky saved me on that one. Cant wait to put my Predator back in!

Mine was pretty much the same way. Shifted great, but did get a little sloppy but it is working great now. Congrats on the install.

After doing this mod, how long should you wait to put the programmer back in?

You should at least wait until you get back into your truck :D We never took ours out.

My truck is confused. It is having trouble shifting. I did the Transgo, Transynd and 120hp Predator together. I have been babying it. I really havent taken it up past 1/2 throttle shifts. When I want to play I use the manual mode to lock out 5th and 6th. I am trying to get on it more, but it is still a little slow to shift with the 1/2 throttle. I am slowly working my way up each day.

acTry your Predator on 85 mine does'nt shift good on 120 unless I put it to the floor.

It is definitely shifting better each day. The question is whether the trans can handle the 120 or if I should go back to the 85. My stock trans was doing excellent with the 65. It will slaughter the rear tires on the 2nd gear shift with the transgo and predator on 120. It is quite entertaining!

Dude thats my next mod. How does it feel when shifting, is it really hard or just firmer than stock.

Mine feels like stock under light acceleration , and shifs quicker and firmer the harder I mash it. The shifting is just like it ought to be not jerky it does'nt slam. You will love it!!! Just quick possitive shifts.

upgrading the tranny is not like adding an old school shift kit. the allison learns your driving styles and compensates for SMOOTH shifts. All upgrading the tranny does it let you have big power without it limping, slipping, etc. ive got a stage 5 and with a big tune if you drive like a normal person should it shifts smooth enough that you cant feel it shift. when you start romping on it hard (racing) the first few shifts suck, then as it learns it firms them up but doesnt make it bang into gear.

Does it only need to "learn" once or do you have to hammer it every once in a while to keep it "updated" on the learning?

The Alli is learning all the time and adapts to the kind of driving you are doing right now.
