: Nasty Girl's "New" pistons!

Here are the pics of the new LBZ pistons.

These pistons are oversized LBZ slugs. They were modified by fly cutting tops to achieve the desired clearances and to get the comp. ratio to 14:1. They were also ceramic coated. The pistons were modified by Guy Tripp @ SoCal Diesel. And as usual the end result was nothing other than perfect!

Thanks goes out to Guy as he was under the gun to have them ready and they arrived right on time to Merchants door.:hail:

Long block will be complete Monday and in the truck hopefully by Tuesday. Rest will be assembled hopefully by Wed/ Thursday Morning. Testing and tuning will be done by Tony (GMC 2002 Dmax) and Guy Tripp in Danville Friday to prepare for the Dyno Event.:D

Finally good to meet Keith, we've talked for nearly a year on the phone, but its always nice to meet a good customer face to face. The pistons look very good. Unfortunatly, we didnt have the equipment in house to be able to perform the operations and when the pistons came in, we still didnt really know what operation we were going to do for compression adjustment and valve relief. After consultation with many, Keith, Guy and myself thought this to be a good way as it allowed for valve clearance and also put us at the target compression ratio.

I don't think we will see the full potential this time around but I am not going to be to shy either.;)

Whats the goal of this thing, as far as power numbers goes?

How about track times, whats the goal on those?

Nice job guys!

I can't wait to see the dyno results and hopefully a run or two at Rocky mountain Raceway.

It is hard to say what the #'s will be as this is unchartered territory for this truck. I don't think 800+ on fuel only is unrealistic for it's first time out though. As far as a goal in track times I hope to get her into the 10's this year on #2 only! Would be the first CC to do so IIRC.

I was just reading through the post and checking out some of what you're doing on your truck and thinking to myself, the back of that truck looks familiar like I've seen that somewhere..... thinking..... oh yeah, when I drove up past MA last week I saw it there, lol. I need to get some more goodies for my truck

Can't wait to see what your truck can do Nasty Girl! Should be awesome The guys on FullSizeChevy were talking about the fastest LB7s in the country and they were all talking about a twin turbo'd CC from Canada to be on the look out for. Should be exciting!!

Check the bench racing forum.. there's lots of reading in there on the dyno event. This thread is for the discussion of the pistons.
