I did it the old fashion way. Hacksaw.... Just cut around the egdes and pull... They do make a vice that you can hold it with and turn and it will cut it open like a can opener, not sure where to get one, but I know some people on here have used them...

I can see how so many people have injector problems with stock filtration..... How much of that crap gets sent through?

Polarbear, i bought an oil filter cutter from Speedwaymotors.com (http://www.speedwaymotors.com)last year for 40 bucks. Makes a nice cut and limits the contamination from hacking it open.

I guess that explains why it was so rough when Scott bumped up the rail pressure last weekend. His speculation on cause was correct!

Diesel on the north side must be better; my filters have never looked that bad, even with a full 15,000 on them. I need to cut open my last one I changed, tomorrow, and see if that is still the case.

I may go ahead and change my Mega filter and my lift pump filter tomorrow as well, and see how they look. Got about 20,000 on them, so I am curios.

Ya I can understand that now. I need to get in touch with him and have him reteset it to make sure this did some good and I do not have a pump failure coming soon....
