: nutha Zaino convert
nwpadmax 08-13-2004, 07:33 PM Just got me kit and put 'er on last weekend. Terrific stuff! I wish I'd have grabbed a photo 'fore I got it all dirty this week.
How long does this stuff last, from you experienced Zaino users?
BlueOx03 08-13-2004, 08:29 PM I second that, I used it on the wife's car first and it came out great. I just bought the Ultimate kit they have for my truck. The leather and tire care stuff kicks ass too.
BTW I bought a leaf blower like they suggest and that works awsome too!

RUQWKNF27 08-14-2004, 03:32 PM I have been using Zaino like 3 yrs. an before I used everything under the sun... Have yet to find anything that compares .... Except the new Nano Wax from Eagle One its pretty nice an applicable if no one has used Zaino, but still not a real match to Zaino but its close... I zaino my vette twice a month an the truck once every month an a half an on the truck it lasts really doesnt need it so often but i like to keep it up... I got maybe 50 coats on the vette.... To the point that after washing I hit it with the leaf blower an its dry in 5 minutes..... LEAF BLOWER IS AWSOME PROVIDING THERE IS ENOUGH POLISH ON THERE AN THE WATER JUST FLYS OFF!!!! I admit I am a detailing fool......
dieselman 08-15-2004, 08:16 AM I've used Zaino for about 4 years now on trucks and cars. You'll only get about 3 months worth if you drive the truck everyday. If you have a car in the garage for weekends, etc, that'll probably last 8-12 months on that car.
Love Zaino, just hate all the time I spend detailing.Edited by: dieselman
I prefer products that cause water to bead off for at least six months to a year. Years ago I used Rain Dance by Dupont. I don't see it anymore. Waxing cars and trucks is on the bottom of my sh$t list so i don't do iut any more than I need to.
dieselman 08-15-2004, 06:27 PM Hoot,
While I agree with you, I changed to Zaino for the look. I used to use a sheeting wax and when I couldn't find that I started researching waxes and arrived at Zaino. I still like a sheeting wax best for protection because if it doesn't bead, it can't spot.
akdiesel 08-16-2004, 02:35 PM I have not used Zaino, but I do use Liquid Glass. Any one use this copmpared to Zaino?
Xsta Z 28 08-16-2004, 04:01 PM I like Liquid Glass, works well, for durabilty and shine, hands down to Zaino.
I did just the fenders and hood of my truck on Memorial Day 2004 as just a test, and up to yesturday, it beaded like no other, while the rest of the truck just sheeted water. This truck is my daily driver, get washed in soft cloth car washes, has seen Georgia rain, and is only a part time garage kept truck . . . I detailed the whole truck on Sunday. Slicker than slick, can't wait to see how an IL winter treats the Zaino.
For conveniece, LG is good, cause you can run to the local parts store, Zaino, you have to order . . .
nwpadmax 08-16-2004, 05:20 PM Maybe they have some special Goat Wax for Hootie http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
motovet 08-17-2004, 04:29 PM Long time Zaino user....but what is the leaf blower about. It really works good to get the water off?
HD-Nate 08-17-2004, 04:54 PM I have not used Zaino, but I do use Liquid Glass. Any one use this copmpared to Zaino?
Yes, I have. Used liquid glass the first time I waxed the C5. Did not care for it and went back to Meguiers Gold Class until it turned my White Vette Yellow tint.
Been a Zaino convert ever since.
What is with the every month applications???
I have been using Zaino for about 4 years now. Twice a year on the Vette - garaged but a true daily driver, snow, ice, rain, hail, etc. Its my wifes daily driver, WallMart, grocery store, it goes everywhere and will still take "Best of Class" and 100 point car shows.
Same for the truck, another daily driver, of course, NEVER garaged. Twice a year does it.
If you did not Clay Bar the truck before you applied Zaino, you are missing out on half the shine!
Well worth the minimal effort it takes to clay bar the vehicle.
I think its half the work to apply Zaino, no residue from wax since its a polish. Easy to apply and take off.
Go to the "Photos" below for pictures of the Vette and the DMax. Edited by: HD-Nate
SuperTuscan 08-17-2004, 05:19 PM I tried Mequiar's Tech Wax and found it to last only about a month or so. It goes on real easy and provides a very good shine. I'll continue to use it, but the wife prefers Blitz Wax on her black Audi.
BTW, a leaf blower to dry the car? I thought the speed of the air combined with any particles the blower picked up would be in effect a giant sand blaster.
Blowers are very popular for motorcycles. Makes it a lot easier to detail them after washing.
Lakedaisy 08-17-2004, 06:21 PM Applied a Claybar and zanio my truck last Sept. Daily driver. I wash it every couple of weeks with zanio car wash. Water beads like I waxed it yesterday, but I do keep it in the garage. I don't usually don't have to use my windshield wipers when it rains as the water just beads off.
kbrowns 08-18-2004, 04:42 PM I've been using Zaino and the results are pretty good. But the other day my brother showed me some stuff he has been using on his '68 Z28, part time driver, but looks like a show car. It's called Race Glaze. His Harley had some swirl marks on the tank(it's black and there pretty easy to see in the sunlight) and after he used this the tank looks perfect. No swirls and man does it shine. It looks like you could stick your finger down into it. Has anyone used this? It's available locally so it would be easy to get.

Understand that Zaino does little to nothing to clean paint, it is there to protect. If your paint is spider-webbed, oxidized or dull you must use a cleaner then follow with zaino....and make sure not to put cleaner on top of zaino. Zaino is hands down the best paint polish out there.
RUQWKNF27 08-19-2004, 05:24 AM Sorry menat to say that I wax once a month usually the 2 nd week.. Yes with a good foundation of polish a leaf blower works perfect.. Even zaino prefers a specific Toro electric one on there web site an thats the one a use.. Before i even do anything the driveway is blown clean, then car is washed. An since when im thru washing the concrete is still wet even i fhtere were debris to be sucked up which is unlikely @ all i mean what is a leaf blower gonna suck up an blow out onto the paint???? I use Z2 like everyone else I suppose its for new CC finishes. I just clayed my chrome wheels to day an what a difference... Guys try a leaf blower after a good application of polish, start by standing in the bed an start with the top of the truck an work your way down.. You can thank me later!!!
