16x6.5 Alcoa Hotshots with stock 215/85-16 tires. Same offset/dia as stock. Bare polished aluminum, so not the easiest things to maintain.

You use the term "WANT" as in free? Or want as in want to buy? If they are free I think I can help you out there... Let me know.

Road Boss,

I like um. Who makes them. Will they take a stock tire?

Thanks

How are you all putting air in the inside rears....... ?

With the Alcoa wheels, looks like you fit your hand
thru to access the tire valves.

56Nomad, this is a sweet looking setup! This is not my truck I was just posting it to show more dually wheels.

<DIV>56Nomad,</DIV>
<DIV>You are correct...One must fit a hand thru the hole to remove and reinstall the inner wheel's valve stem cap. Fortunately, the hole is just big enough. A long, dual foot inflator and pressure gauge makes adjustments easier.</DIV>

<DIV>GMC2500HD,</DIV>
<DIV>I was just kidding about the stock wheels. I might need to put them back on if the 05 duallys are too much to resist!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif</DIV>

Looks like Alcoa LTS 5 spokes.

Alcoa website (http://www.alcoa.com/alcoawheels/north_america/en/product_category.asp?cat_id=757)

On edit: according to the Alcoa fitment guide on www.southwestwheel.com the only Alcoa wheels made for the 01-03 Chev/GMC duallys are the Hotshot and the Magnum. I know GM went to a 6.5" wide wheel in 01, (previous was 6") but not sure about what other changes.

Not that I know of. They do make 19.5s that have the same 8 lug bolt pattern.

How about listing wheel size, tire size and tire make with the pics for the ones that are not listed. They are all good looking combos. Edited by: cwolfe

flduramax,

How did your 22.5's affect your mpg and your low end power?

19.5" Alcoa's 8 to 10 bolt Arrowcraft adapters. Yokahoma 265/70R19.5's no lift, bars up 6 turns.

Not sure on the mpg, I put the wheels on right after I bought the truck. As far as the power, I added the juice at the same time. You loose a little power witht the wheels, but the programmer makes up for it.

KTDURAMAX/Tulsa1718,

I caught myself getting a chubby looking at those wheels! Very nice. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Are any of you towing heavy with the aftermarket rims? I looked at some but they were welded and the tire guys didn't recommend using them to tow heavy. I'm running simulators on the OEM rims. JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

8,000 lbs or so....not a whole lot yet.

john@dps

JJs Dumax, I tow a 14,000lbs fifth wheel tongue weight 3100. Total truck weight 11,400lbs, GCW is 22,300lbs. I don't know what your tire guy was talking about. My adapters are rated at 20,000lbs each and my wheels are rated at 6600lbs each, tires are rated at 5500lbs each at 120psi. If I have a weight limit it is the truck, not my tires and wheels.

tulsa1718, thanks for the reply. I'm in the process of gathering intel on custom aftermarket wheels. Like you I tow a heavy 5ver (3500lb pin, 24,500 GCW) and safety is a major concern. I read several articles a couple of months back that expressed caution about the type of wheels you use when towing heavy, especially on dually trucks.

I'm comfortable with my knowledge of tires, not so with wheels. Evidently when towing heavy the wheels can heat up to the point where it may affect some of the wheel welds or something like that? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif I'm likely describing that incorrectly.

I noted in your profile you own DPS. What kind of wheels are you running on your truck? The tire shop guys here in J'ville don't know much about wheel ratings, even less about duallies! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif When it comes to safety I'm always skeptical about the advice these guys give out.

I have found a place that knows what they are doing. Any advice on aftermarket wheels is appreciated. JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Hey Fellas...

If i were to run the 22.5's set-up....think i could tow up to 24k gvw still?

pro400exc, you might be close, not on the wheel tire problem, but the gvw of the pkg. I have a deal with www.brentzwheels.com (http://www.brentzwheels.com/) that I can hook you up with for 19.5"s all bolt on no adapters. pkg includes 4 alum wheels 2 steel inners and tires mounted balanced. check out the styles and see some on the trucks and let me know if this something you are looking at. these are just a sample of some available.
