I am trying to come up with the installation of twin DVD players for the back seat. I already intend on purchasing headrest monitors but I would like to come up with a way to install a DVD player in both armrests either horizontilly or vertically. Or maybe some other location reachable by a child while on the road.

I have two children, twins, and they can hardly agree on anything. The single player in my Suburban, has been the cause of several wars, so I am trying to come up with a solution for my Sierra. We have tried or viewed the lap and the buckle on models, they all seem to be either unsightly, or of poor performance.

Any ideas that you might have, or you might have seen, would be apprieciated. Thank you...

I would recomend the SAVV custom headrests with 7" monitors. I mounted my DVD player up front in the pocket in the center console. I use a Sony PS2 under the backseat. Both monitors can watch either source or the same movie.

I did a similar install but with a VCP and a DVD under the rear seat. The AV switching unit allows for independent sources for both headrest screens. I'm not sure how installing both in the arm rest would work. My install can be viewed in My Pictures - use the link in my sig - in case anything I've done helps. It's funny, but even when my two kids have separate shows on their screens, they frequently both end up watching the same one! While my kids can reach the players if they unbuckle their belts, it's easier for my wife to turn around and change movies in and out. The remotes work fine for the kids as long as they point them in a general downward direction.

Good luck!

Audiovox makes head rests with DVD players built in behind tip out screens...

Thanks Ox

That HRDV700 is perfect. I just need to find out how I can get two primary units without the sattelights.

Thank you again for the lead.

Make 'em count Beetle Bugs!

What did we do when we were kids? ( I used to lay in the back window (rear dash) of the Oldsmobile and just look at everything going on around me.)

It kinda bugs me that kids nowadays(mine too)are so spoiled.

Every now and then on a trip in the wifes Tahoe to WDW I'll just make them sleep or something other than the TV.

I remember actually more often than not driving my folks nuts on those long trips; frequently threatened with, and occationally succumbing to a good whipping at the next wide spot in the road. We even really did cancel one vacation trip due to my brothers' and my behavior.

Oh they tried all those cute little games that all parents try; counting out of state plates, number of yellow cars, etc. But to no avail, I kind of like this as a handy diversion for those long trips.

It would be a lot cheaper just to get a bigger stick!

why not buy 2 of those portable dvd players and install an inverter in the truck........portable ( no fighting over what they wanna watch if they are both stuck in a hotel room or somewhere else) and much cheaper then headrest installs...
