was installed by the Stealer yesterday. The pedal is still 'plastic' though it was definately replaced. No more squeaking so now I can here the throwout bearing growlin better . . . http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

The tech took 4 pics of the kit and, hopefully of the take-out parts as well. I will post soon.

Svc Mgr says that I will have to take the truck back to stock (remove lift suspension ) in order to get gm to replace the flexplate that is goin south . . . . http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif

I think it will hold up for a while yet . . . given how bad the clutch system is I am very glad the engine, transmission, and other key components are not designed and manufactured by gm . . .

Deadeye,

Is this supposed to be a "new and improved" clutch pedal assembly, or is it the same as the old one? My '04 squeaks terribly in the hot weather. Thanks.

take the truck back to stock to install a new flywheel? He already knows you have it lifted, what difference does it make?

I think the tech rep told the Stealer that the big tires were causing the DMF to break. Only thing I can imagine. I know that lots of dealers have lift kits installed on new truck before they are sold. In fact, the guy who installed my lift kit mostly spends his time doing kits for dealers trucks.

Larger tires are certainly (a little) harder on a DMF, but blaming them for a flywheel failure on a truck rated to tow 15,000+ lbs -- that's laughable (especially if the truck doesn't have a hitch in its bed). Arguing that a flywheel can fail before the clutch disc without it being defective is pretty ridiculous as well.

The new clutch pedal kit seems to be working well. Despite high ambient temps the pedal no longer squeaks. Of course, now I can more clearly hear the growling DMF and the pedal still get hard . . . . . .

sorry it toook so long to get these developed. doubt they are of much help. I am not even sure which is new and which is old. Maybe the one on the left is old due to the dirt on the pedal. Dealer tech took these pics.

Does anyone have the part number for this new pedal assembly. Also do I need to order the slave cylinder separately or does it come with the pedal?
