IS 16X10 " wheels too wide for the max.. the dealer said 10" looks better, then I've heard some say 8" would be better?? HELP I've already ordered and paid for them and installation is tomorrow.

16x10 will be fine. 16x8 work better for most tire choices. Th 10's will push any meats you put on the truck out ~1 inch and might create a clearance issue. What size tires?

depends on the backspacing on the rims. The stock rims are 16x6.5" with 5" backspacing. A 16x10" wide aftermarket rim with 4.5" backspacing (very common) will stick out 4" more on each side than the stock rims and could cause turning problems

I don't think you will be happy with 16x10's.

Two problems 1 they will rub on your truck (will require some cutting or triming) (Rasing of torsen bars) (rough ride)

2 they will be outside the truck..... two words rock-chips & Oil-Tar.

Ask and see what the backspacing is? I'll be able to help more.

i'm thinking 16X8s would be better too. I asked but the salesman informed me that he runs 10s on his..exact wheel. And that i wouldn't have any rubs running 285s so I don't know... i'm glad i asked. though they are paid for they shouldn't have a problem exchanging for a correct size. :) I'm excited to get my training wheels off so to speak. :)

I don't see how they will stay out of the fenders with out a lift. There you go...now you have a reason to get the lift!

My personal preference is the 10's cos they look deeper. However, with 285's it is going to be very close to, if not really rubbing on the fender well.

Fingers .. you are running 10s right? What wheel and tire combo do you have on yours. I noticed that they look extremely similar if not identical to the ones I purchased. (in the wheel/tire post)

Thanks for all the great advice. I am getting them installed first thing in the morning. I hope they look good. I don't want a gawky looking truck at ALL!

16x10 Weld Racing Cheyenne 8's with 365/65-16's on them. I did a little modification to the front wheel wellshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

10's are kind of wide for a 285's but they will fit. I would go with an 8" for better looks with 285's and easier to fit on the truck.
