They look regular to me..........no, seriously they are the 2001 sport emblems.

I am not a fan of the chrome letters/numbers. I took them off the tailgate as well and used the matching MOPAR PCCHA Blue DODGE & 4x4 .

Hey Hoot,

I have seen your pics and they look great,I just got a SONY P10 5 megapixel,but so far the pictures dont look like I think they should.

Thanks

hoot
08-21-2004, 09:03 AM
I use a Nikon Coolpix 990. 3.4 megapixels.

I set it on normal mode which makes files in the 600KB range.. too big for web. I use either Adobe Photoshop or Arcsoft PhotoStudio Se to resize them to 500 wide..150 to 200 pix resolution, usually brings them down to the 60 kb range.

I have seen Microsoft photoeditor destroy photo quality when resizing so it does matter what software to use when resizing. I never try uploading large files and allowing websites to automatically reduce them.

By taking high resolution photos to start with you have a lot more to work with, quality wise.Edited by: hoot

I like my bus trucks! My last truck was even cheese bus yellow! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

For the kinds of things I do with my truck a long bed is pretty much a requirement. Plus the long wheelbase makes for more stable cruising at high speeds, especially while towing. I do a lot of high-speed towing, so this is a major benefit for me.

I'm glad I didn't buy a 4x4 long bed quad cab, though. The turning radius is about the state of Montana. My truck (4x2) is actually pretty nimble. Although I do wish it sat higher like the 4x4. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

dpfcummins, I must know -- Do you have problems with soot on the roof of the truck?Not really it seems to blow it up high enough. I dont run this truck on the street anymore. The charger won't lite until close too 3000rpms so its not too fun to even try and drive it down the road. Every once in a while i am out testing it on our road and the neighbors that live a quater-mile away ride up on their atv's to see whats going on.:D Matt

What's your max RPMs?

dpfcummins
01-12-2005, 12:43 PM
Well i can bring it out up to 5400rpm if i want but my cam really isnt set up for that rpm. I shoot to run down the track at 4500 cause thats max for street class and thats what my cam was designed for. Last year i lost some rpms due to no aux fuel supply system but with a whole new supply system I recently installed its good for keeping 70psi to the p-pump under full load. Matt

I recently painted my valve cover. Here's a picture of it. I used rustoleum silver paint with no clear coat. The blue and red letters were painted using Testors model paint. Cheap and all I could find in the correct colors. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif This picture also includes the new billet aluminum oil filler cap and dip stick handle. The maroon paint on those matches the truck and is translucent. It looks really cool up close. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/cool2.gif

My project this weekend was to get my new PIAA lights installed. Both sets are the 510 series which are 55w 4" lights that are comparable to like most 85w lights. The first set (outside set) are yellow-ish fog lights and the inner lights are long range driving lights.

<IMG SRC="http://www.cyber3dnet.com/dieselplace/light_install.jpg">

The piaa light kits came with these stupid looking "stick on" light switches that I just did not want any part of. I searched and scoured for weeks and finally found an Eaton product that was exactly what I wanted. The two switches on the left are the only ones used right now. The third one will be for reverse lights. The three on the right are for future use. (lockers, etc) The switches I used are three way (SPDT) switches, allowing the fog / driving lights to be constantly on, off, or on when my high beams are engaged. I set up the third option by using the brite box with fog light control. I routed the fog light lead back to my two switches so when the brites are on, the switch activates a relay to either or both of the new sets of lights.

Anyhow, here are the switches I went with:
<IMG SRC="http://www.cyber3dnet.com/dieselplace/switches_front.jpg">

The wriing was tedious, but pretty simple. Lots of soldering and heat shrinking over the weekend:
<IMG SRC="http://www.cyber3dnet.com/dieselplace/switches_rear.jpg">

I've added so many things to the truck that I finally felt that I needed to add the aftermarket Cirkit Boss fuse block from Geno's. When I was about to install it, I was thinking "What the he!! am I doing!?". Most people mount it on the fuse box lid, but I already had my Edge EZ and TST PMCR mounted there.
<IMG SRC="http://www.cyber3dnet.com/dieselplace/wires_before.jpg">

I'm by no means an electrician of any sort, but I eventually figured it out and made it look halfway descent. I ended up using some plastic weld stuff from Wal-Mart to attach it. It worked great! In this picture, the bundle of white wires on the left are for my future reverse (flood) light install. I wanted to run those wires to the cab now so I didn't have to do it later. The colorful wires on the right of the TST box are for future fuse block connections.
<IMG SRC="http://www.cyber3dnet.com/dieselplace/wires_after.jpg">

I had a mighty interesting weekend to say the least.:grd:

I took the truck out in the back yard this evening to get a few pictures. I should have done this earlier for lighting purposes since my digital cam sucks in low lighting, but these didn't turn out as bad as I thought they would.

Here's a picture of the Road Armor rear stealth series bumper.
http://www.cyber3dnet.com/dieselplace/ra_rear.jpg

Here's a pic of the Road Armor front stealth series bumper with the Titan II intimidator guard (as seen in 2 Fast 2 Furious on the blocker trucks). I think the ligths look cool, especially with the background. That's my little guy on the far right side of this picture.

My wife doesn't usually drive a standard, but somehow I convinced her to drive mine into the river for a few pics. (it has the beat SBC dual disc clutch with about 35lb clutch pressure heh)

This shot is pretty cool. It shows off the new lights well.

Up on the bank. I was debating running or staying long enough to get the picture. That's my beautiful, loving, caring, perfect (and she puts up with me and my diesel mods) wife driving. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Here's a closer pic. In this one, you can actually see the mounting bracket for the Road Armor rear bumper. (notice where it bolts up to the bottom of the frame.) This pic reminds me that I need to get rid of that stock spare tire and find something else to put under there. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/rockon.gif

Since we are looking at pics of our trucks......have anyone of you guys put fender flares on your trucks???? I have heard that Xenon flares have the 3M tape on top of them and that they won't scratch like the fender like the Bushwackers' will. Anyone with Bushwackers can you let me know if they did tear up the paint on the truck. Also (last one!!) has anyone put on the ATS fender flares? Are they 3M on top, or just like the Bushwackers??? I would like to see pics too if possible. I don't want to ruin a $40000 truck by putting on something that is supposed to help keep the rocks and crap from hitting the body and tearing it up!!!!!:rant:
