: Will 285’s fit on ’03 GMC?

Everybody tells me 285/70 17's will fit with only raising the torsion bars a little, and people say they have them, or 33x 12.5's, but by my measuring, going by the 33" that they are supposed to be, it just doesn't look like it. I can't see how they are going to clear the bottom corner of the plastic piece under the front bumper. Some rubbing on the inside wouldn't bother me too bad, but I don't want to have to do any cutting. I'm thinking the people say they will fit may only be going by the 01's and 02's. Since they changed the bumper, will the 03's and up not fit as large of a tire on the front?

Does anybody have, or know of some 285's ( or 33's) on an '03 GMC, stock height (except raising the bars)? Do you have to cut on the front plastic?

they fit quite nicely... 46k on my BFG's, just a little rub on the inner wheel liner.. just use zip strips to pull it back slightly.

No problems

285s fit on my 04 Chevy with no problem except they would touch the plastic in the wheelwell on the drivers side when backing up. Zip tie it back and it's fine..

Plan on getting a set for my truck too. Only going to install green keys so there is no issues about fitting...

If the 285 are on H2 wheels or any other wide wheel u will have to trim the bottom corner of the air dam.

285-16 on stock wheels will clear the airdam.

On my 03 GMC I had to trim more than on my 04 GMC and both Chevys (03 &04) didn't need as much trimming.

Lifting the bars doesn't help w/ airdam unless u go up a lot.
