: What performance mod's left?
DuramaXXXin 01-17-2007, 12:57 PM I am wondering what performance enhancements are there left to do?
I have Edge w/Attitude, Air Raid Intake, BD Manifold, RBP 4" Turbo Back Exhaust and Banks Waste Gate.I do not want to do any over the top mods such as propane. I am getting ready to do a Suncoast stage 3 or 4 but want to get everyones opinions on any other engine mods I am missing which I am sure there are plenty. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
The Neens 01-17-2007, 01:03 PM Once you get your transmission upgraded and you can run the highest level on your Edge, a lift pump will be beneficial...It might even help out now while you're waiting to do the trans.
jugdish35 01-17-2007, 01:20 PM i can surely agree with that...
billygoat7c 01-17-2007, 02:42 PM you could make the switch to efi live

I will have to do a search on a lift pump on here before I ask what the benefits are. As far as efi live not sure I would go there I am quite happy with Edge and the extra power it provides although I am certain efi is the best route. The truck is mainly used on weekends and for towing the Toy Hauler to the desert and the boat to the river. Once in a while it's nice to light the tires up or race a Ford but nothing crazy :ro)
schulte 01-17-2007, 02:55 PM Transmission's an important one. If you've decided you want to go with suncoast, you have three choices. SCIII is an assembled unit, with good power handling over stock. SCIV is a kit that you have to either install yourself into your trans, or have a trans shop install the kit in your trans. SCV is an assembled unit, with all the same parts as the IV.
If you're going to have a shop drop and re-install your trans, you're probably best off going with a SCIII or SCV. In most cases, it doesn't financial sense to have a shop rebuild yours with a SCIV kit, you might as well go with a SCV once you get into all the labor installed, plus the warranty coverage you get with the SCV.
If you have the money, go with the SCIV or SCV; a SCIII will hold all your current mods with no problem, but there's no reason to skimp now if you think you'll ever want more power in the future.
Keep in mind, you're also going to need a new torque converter; any vendor that sells Suncoast can offer you a few different choices.

Search will find you what you're looking for on lift pumps, while you're at it, consider a secondary filtration system too.

I was under the impression that the Sun Coast 3 already included the Torque Converter in there kit? Appreciate all the feedback you guy's have provided!

I believe the parts for the Suncoast III is about $2,200 and they work there way up from there. Labor can easily be $1200-$1500 from what I hear.
The Neens 01-17-2007, 03:20 PM Approx. $4000-5000 installed...You can also buy the kits/convertor and do it yourself it you have the facilities and want to save some $$$$$$...
jtyler4570 01-17-2007, 07:42 PM What about the core charge? Or does that already include it?
White Duramax 01-17-2007, 08:29 PM Core charge will be in top of that and would be returned when you send the cores back. The suncoast 3 is a kit, not assembled, it does include a converter as does the sc4.
