Is there any problem with this? The lake I frequent is low requiring me to back in until the rear axles are submerged to launch the boat. Any problem with this?

All joking aside, as long as you don't let the vent go under you should be good. I'm not actually sure where the vent tube is on our trucks though.

In my jeep the vents are up by the roof http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif.

If the seals are in good shape you should be OK dunking the axle. The vent on my 04 is up in the fleetside panel tie wrapped to the filler neck. Good for about 2-1/2 ft or so of water. The deeper you go, the more chance you have of water and dirt pushing past the seals.

Thanks guys. Am I safe in assuming my vent is up by the filler neck also? I don't have the truck with me.

why the the truck in the water????? If your puting a boat in you should be able to put it in without the truck getting wet, even the nastiest ramps.

The slope is very gradual. That meens when the boat is in deep enough to float, the truck is also.

Yes the rear Axle vent is attached to the filler neck.

I started a picture topic in the off topic section to stop intruding on Sollly's thread.

Sorry Sollly.
