I need your guys opinions. I am going to be taking my truck in for service. The problem being I have the juice/attitude installed on my truck along with the exhaust probe. Its a no brainer I am going to take the juice/attitude off the truck before I take it in. But what the heck should I do about the exhaust probe and the long a$$ wire? Should I just take it out and put in a pipe plug? Or should I buy a pyro guage and install it in my truck? I really don't want to spend money on a pyro guage that I don't need. But I also don't want to give the dealer any reason not to warranty my claims.

What I would do is coil it up by the manifold. They probably won't even notice it but if they do, tell them that you had installed a pyrometer guage to keep an eye on things. Once you were certain that EGT's stay in check towing and running around you disconnected. You left it installed in case you ever tow bigger. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Thanks
I'll probally just route the leads back through the hole in the firewall that I made for the attitude cable, and bundle the wires up under the dash. Then if they ask, i'll use your wonderful excuse.

I had the same issues with my '03. I just plugged the hole with a pipe plug and I left the wire(s) on the truck. All other mods were removed prior to going to the stealer. I even told the SM that I was in the process of installing a probe and that was what the hole was for. There were no warranty or tampering issues.
I have the same concerns as you and didn't really want to spend the extra for a pyro gauge, but I did it anyway.
