I have an 03' sierra and it turns out it came with a juice(bought the truck used at a dealership) I have resaerched it and figured out how to program it for regular and tow modes. My question is this... As I am not really into racing... what setting would be best to optimize my mileage and negate and long term damage to my truck 1, 2 ???? Also I Tow a 23' deck boat and was wondering the same for that scenario.

Run it in 1 or two and you will see decent gains and you should also get the best fuel mileage. Also there is much less risk of damaging the transmission on the lower settings.

I'm not into racing either...trucks that is, but since I have been running Johns new 200+ tune I wear a neck brace for the extreme take-off and I keep a money jar in the garage for tires. Seriously I have seen mileage gains of 1-2 MPG on the 90 tune and 1MPG on the 125 IF I am cruising. I actually netted 19MPG highway with John's VA the other day. Of course you won't be into the bigger tunes without trans. work, but the larger tunes have proved to also get decent MPG with a light foot. I swear I said the same things when I first got my truck....damn power pushers.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

JMO but once you find a power level you like stick it there and keep it there, switching powerlevels can confuse the allison. Also you should find out if its the 90 hp juice or the hot juice or what. regular juice has a 30 hp for the first level. IMO stick her in level one and have 0 worries, once the power bug hits though look outhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif I once said the 90 hp juice was more than enough and now look at me, I'm twitching waiting for Steve Cole to get me the extream program, I need a fix!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wacko.gif

The reason i say keep it in one level for t/h and normal is just my thought that the allison dosnt do 100% different training in the different modes. I think it is training partialy for both modes regardless what mode you are in. Dont know it as 100% fact but taking a educated guess. Bouncing around confuses the allison.Edited by: ratlover
