: Hide the ATS mount Attitude install

There have been a number of discussions about what to do with the EGT probe for stealer visits and possible warranty concerns.

Since my Attitude is mounted in the overhead with an ATS mount, I needed to figure a way to cover the fact that the black plastic which forms that upper cubby hole was missing as well. When you take out the ATS mount, you can see the interior of the roof. Since you have to cut the plastic piece out, replacing it was not really an option.

Some here have just left the probe in place, some have put a plug in the exhaust manifold, but I was concerned since my SM is not user friendly. So I got a piece of black 1/4" thick Lexan from a local trophy shop patterned with the ATS mount. Had them cut the 2 1/16th" diameter hole in the middle for the Autometer gauge and went to work.

I had to run switched ignition power to the overhead along with the EGT probe wires, but it wasn't bad. Now when the Attitude is out, I just hook up the wires coming from the probe to the Juice, to the gauge wires. Plug in the power to the gauge and press in the Lexan.

Now if I can get a plug for the Attitude cable so all I have to do is unplug it at the console, things will be really easy. If that doesn't work, I'm thinking you could just lay the Attitude behind the Lexan rather than pull the cable each time. Here's a pic, I thought it turned out well.

Now what you should do is motorize it. Hit a hidden switch and it flips around to the attitude. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif That would be ideal for those who want to run other power adders as well. If only it was easy to do.

Looks great though! Edited by: Max Power

Go Go Gadget Pickup! LOL

Motorizing it would be slick, James bond slick IMHO! '

If you do it... you gotta make a video though. Just so we can see how cool it is.

that is a good idea. I was having the same concerns when I eventually get my edge box and attitude...

I bought a OEM cover from dmaxAllitech and keep it in the consol. I pull the Attitude out and put the blank in. I do have a hidden switch for my video monitors and DVD player that will switch it to powered with key off to keep the kids from screaming if I have to stop. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Edited by: chuntag95

I think that is a cool idea, works and you should not get into any issues with it..
