: Ok, so whats with the tailgate.bumper gap?
markzrt1 01-16-2007, 09:01 AM The gap is bigger on drivers side. Is this something to be concerned about? How does one fix it?
I just took some measurements. The bumper appears to be level at 32 inches on both sides. The pass. side wheel well was 40.5 inches and the drivers side was at 41.5????
BudTX 01-16-2007, 09:30 AM It looks like your bumper is not set straight. If still under warranty, I'd take to to the stealer and have them re-mount the bumper.
cowboy56 01-17-2007, 12:16 AM My bumper looks like it's crowned up in the middle and hanging down on each side. Like that way since new. Weird.
5Cent 01-17-2007, 12:44 AM Looks to me as the black plastic part (back top of bumper) is throwing that gap off. The tailgate looks straight on top edge and line towards the bottom relative to the tail lights. Also the gaps on each side look normal relative to the tail lights. Can you move that plastic strip down, or is it attached to the bumper?
duramaxdavid 02-12-2007, 10:04 AM You must have alot of spare time to notice that. LOL I wouldnt be to worried about it. Ive adjust the bumper to make it look right. The average eye wont notice.
floriduramax1 02-12-2007, 10:07 AM Get Line-x and have them spray the metal in the gap.

I would notice that right off. I would have to straighten it if it were mine.
As you said, there are a lot of people that would not notice it, but I would not be able to deal with it....
tinman22 02-12-2007, 04:16 PM if i'm reading that right, your drivers side wheel well opening is 41.5 inches off the ground and the passenger side is 40.5? and the bumper is straight accross? wouldnt that mean that the bed is crooked for some reason? a broken mount or something?
Tom S. 02-12-2007, 04:17 PM It doesn't look any worse than that dealer advertisement on the back of your truck. :p:

no most cars come from the factory like that
thats why when you lower one you may have to do a little extra triming on the springs to get it level
tinman22 02-12-2007, 11:13 PM hmm so the whole world is lop sided... that explains alot

already gone!
tmg115 02-14-2007, 09:46 PM take it to the dealer and have them fix it. its sad we have to deal with this stuff on 40,000 + dollar trucks.
Some of my body lines dont match. So i went back and they were all different just a little. From the bed to the cab .
TheBac 02-14-2007, 11:52 PM The drivers side bumper mount is not adjusted correctly. You could do it if you want, or take it to the dealer and have them adjust it.
markzrt1 02-15-2007, 01:11 AM I already adjusted it. Looks better now.
MadMaxMike 02-15-2007, 12:20 PM Drivers side high?
Get it in and have someone measure it!
If that doesnt do it, top of your tank and re-measure!

Yeah, that's weird. ALot of GM's sag a little on the driver's side. Even a GM shim kit available to level the rear end out.
Maybe GM is now compensating for this now on the new trucks???

I wonder how, it not being as tight, will make it better...
