FYI I went to a GM dealer to get replacement lamps for my 98 K2500 Sierra. He looked on the computer and told me they were not available, and it would have to be sent out for repair. Not believing him, I asked on forums about it and found it not true. I took out the panel and removed the plastic lightbulb holders and replaced the smaller ones with ones from Advance Auto parts. I found the Daytime Running Lights and Seatbelt Warning ones are a special type that were soldered to its plastic holder contacts. I was able to break out the old one and replace it with a #158 for a temp fix. Had to play with the wires to get them to work. Someone removed my ABS warning one so I found that the light is on. Now I need to see if I can fix that problem.
My point is dont always believe what a dealer tells you. For example another Chev dealer told me that I had to buy a new Injection pump from Standadyne or used one at the junkyard, of course I didn't believe that there was not rebuilts available and I found that a lie also. Bought mine from SS Diesel truck runs great now, saved $1000.
Thanks for the internet.
If anybody knows wer I can get some links on ABS problems that would be great.
