Right after I put my exhaust system the check engine light came on so i hit the little blue button. When I talked to the rep he wasnt hesitant at all about giving me the codes that made the light go on...i beleive they were P0401 and P0404...emissions codes since I removed the cat.......
well today the g/f tells me the truck was actin kinda funny so i again called OnStar to see what codes the system was throwing out and the lady said that she could not give me the codes because I was not a tech.....and that if i wanted the codes take it to the dealership and have the service manager get me the codes....
What kind of crap is this? I spend 30k+ on a truck and she cant tell me what codes MY truck is throwing out. Is this standard practice for them? And if so why?
