Anybody had diesel fuel pumping out the bottom of the truck? Mine goes to the dealer tommorow. Still under warranty. I know its not much info but any ideas? Just over 25k miles. No check light of any kind and the engine will run.

Could be an injector failed and filled your crankcase with fuel. When this happens oil & fuel will blow out the vent tube on the passenger side of the engine. Check the oil level to see if it's overfull. Also check the oil pressure. When this happens oil pressure also drops.

it could also be one of the fuel rails being loose. happened on my 2002 at low miles.. truck ran fine, but poured diesel on the engine, ground, tranny, frame, basically everywhere.. dealer tightened up the fitting and its been fine ever since..

2 bad cup seals and a leaking return line. Under side of truck covered in fuel.

Make sure they clean the underside of the truck and respray the coating. The fuel will eat it away.

Thanks for the replies. I checked the dipstick first thing and the oil level is normal. Sounds very similar to Diesel Powers fuel rail. WannaDmxsub are you talking about the coating on the frame?

Should I attempt to tighten the fuel rail myself?

My truck's fuel rail started leaking the first day I had my 03. The replace the driver's side rail. 36K miles later and no other leaks. Still frustrating though.

Yes, Mine had been leaking for about 200 miles so it may have been worse than yours is.

Curious on what the dealer says about cleaning the underside of the truck and respraying. My GMC dealer's service manager refused to do this, saying GM would not do it under warranty and it was not necessary. I promptly cancelled an order for a new 05, went to the Chev fleet manager at another dealership, ordered a new truck for less money and sooner arrival date. Truck arrives 9/1. First thing I'm going to do is run over the GMC service manager and drag him a few blocks as sort of an attitude changing seminar.

My service manager took it back with out a word. The Diesel tech even came out and apologized. Said he had one of the new guys do it and didn't check his work when he was done. Edited by: WanaDmxsub

supatricka-

that EXACT same thing happened to me.. i was driving to go ride my MX bike.. about 45 miles from home.. happened just before i got thre.. had just filled the TFI 45 gallon tank, and wasn't loosing fuel that fast so i drove there.. rode for the day.. drove home and it smoked more. some lady rode my ARSE for 20 miles trying to pass on the shoulder many times.. she was so close i could see the diesel on her windshield and her wipers smearing it... long story short- got home (used/dropped 30 gallons) called GM.. they said call the fire dept.. since i was at home i said ok and did it. they show up.. look around confused.. they see the diesel in the street/gutter and say, "that's diesel! do you have any gas leaking?" i said no, and they told me that they didn't care about diesel. when i told them what GM said they advised me to drive the truck to the dealer the next AM when everyone is dropping off for service, leave it running in their service entrance and watch it pour diesel everywhere until i got their attention...

soooooooooooooo.. i did just that on their nice clean concrete!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
