It has Allison written all over it, all the parts are available from Alliso, Allison engineered it, built it and sells it. What else could it be?

Well after all...he drives a ferd, what more can you expect. It is def. made by allison, I've actually talked to some of the people who designed it.

He is insecure about his truck, so like a school bully, he tries to cut down your truck. Typical ford guy.

Make him prove to YOU that it's not an Allison. Why should you prove it to him when you know better?

Nice pics Dura. If the guy still doesn't get it after those pics, he's hopeless.

Don't they always say its whats on the inside that counts?;)

International in their 4300 series chasis (box trucks ) use them, also school buses use them. Nt surea bout ford 650's anmore if they use the 1000 series but its the same trans as them.

well they "sort of" do.;) :) The 4300's use the Allison 2000 series if Im not mistaken. Its identical to the 1000 in every way, except the gear ratios are slihtly different and thus better suited for very heavy loads. Max GCWR on the 1000 is 26,000 pounds I think and max GCWR on the 2000 series is 30,000 pounds. The only thing that makes it rated for higher is simply the slighty lower gear ratios.

the International 4100's however do use an allison 1000, mated to a VT365 (6.0 powerstroke)

Actually i heard that ford bought allison and designed it and then Cat bought ford and took it from them until Perkins bought cat who everyone knows is owned by Saturn who handed it back over to GM for use in their trucks. Ford, being mad took their engineering drawings of the allison and mixed in some 47RE parts (what, you didn't know that Mercury owns Dodge) and out came the torqueshift.

Yes, it is very much an allison transmission.

:cool:Sounds like one of those closed minded "I've got the right opinion but you don't" kind of friends. Turn it around on him....Just tell him that when you talked to the guys at Allison, you found out that Ford transmissions are designed and built in a joint venture by engineers from Iraq and North Korea with North American satisfaction in their best interests.

as you know this guy is just trying to get a rise out of you and it seems to be working. next time he says anything just agree and admit to what ever he is spewing at the moment. you know what you are driving and have faith that it is the best trans in the automatic world. so relax . let him think he has beat you on this and he will move on to the next thing. it will always be something. family friend helped my dad on a road trip change out his carrier bearing and gave dad a bad time when he say the blue coating on the splined driveline . he told dad it was a plastic driveline and that his fomoco did not have a plastic driveline . he rode dad so hard about it i had to tell him to cool it thought he was going to give him a stroke he was getting so wound up.

there are more important things in life than some ford , chev, dodge person giving you grief about your trans. i personally do not worry , challenge or get worked up about what someone else thinks, I have had to many important things in life to live thru. posting the internal parts pics earlier should give a person enough evidence to know for sure what is in a gm pickup. let the ford guy spout off about whatever. i have seen my dad let someone work him into a state of madness when he let someone pulled his chain. my confusing ranting is now over.

That would be a 6.5, being that the new stroker is a 6.4. ;)

Same case and most of the internals are used in other series allisons as durato the max said. Dont know how much more allison it could get. It was designed and built by them, whats hard to grasp for him:think: If he wants to debate if its good bad or what ever thats debatable but its a fact that the trans in our trucks are "real" allisons. Go to any "allison" dealer/service center. You can get allison 1000 series parts there(and they are the same parts in may other difference siries allison trans)

allison was bought from jim allison by gm in 1929. shortly after he died.

tell you ford guy this....1931 gm was buying ford due to going bankrupt,gm was ready to wire transfer the cash when federal laws stoped the sale due to monopoly effect.
