I Was in the auto parts store the other day and found this diesel additive and it was emblazoned with "Made with Soy Oil" now I am all about helping the American farmer and actually considered buying a gallon but it didn't rise the cetane or I didn't see where it was also a anti-gelling agent. Has anyone ever used it or heard of it A guy at work said that he got a letter from John Deere saying that if they use a soy base oil it would void the warranty on their new tractor.

Thanks
Rick

read the technical data sheet on the soyshield and you will see it raises cetane. there are different types of soyshield. the winterizer has an anti-gel. it is not a soybased oil, it is a fuel additive.

schaeffer's makes very high quality products and i havent found a product yet that dissapointed me. i believe there motor oil is the best in the world. also look at the penetro 90. it is even better than pb blaster. and don't follow the prices on the web. you can usually get their products much cheaper. for instance, they say their supreme 7000 15w40 motor oil is $4.50 a quart and i can get it at carquest for $2.72.

which auto parts store did you see this in? the only place i have been able to get the soyshield is from the local distributor.
