: Got the JR Installed!!
TIM Z 01-13-2007, 03:46 PM Hi guys, i just got my Transgo Jr installed!! I knew i could do it! It took me a little longer than some others but i took my time and MAN does it SHIFT AWESOME!!!!! Nice quick and crisp! I had some questions and a problem along the way, but THANKS TO ERIC MERCHANT:) for answering my questions today on HIS day off. I would have been stuck without his help. Im glad i bought the kit from him and when its time for the suncoast i'll let him install it;) . Also i couldnt have done this with out the Excellent overview "Sticky" we have here. This forum is the best!:D
LWATSON 01-13-2007, 04:07 PM Sounds good, I have a transgo jr I plan to install it next weekend I bought mine from MikeL , cost was a little more than some on Ebay but the piece of mind knowing an expert is only a phone call away is worth allot.
good to hear it went ok. that just makes it harder to wait on my parts to do mine.
Prostar8.20 01-13-2007, 04:50 PM Tim, Where did you get hung up installing that you had to call Eric? I'll be doing mine next weekend and could use the info. Thanks
Excellent to hear Tim!:grd:
Sounds like a worthy investment.

When i "split " the Valve body halfs on my workbench, the small plastic cone filter fell out of its hole and i had no idea where it went. Also after i got everything back together and full of transynd, i went to put the truck in reverse and THE SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK!!! I thought, oh ****! I called Eric and he explained how the gear detent works and it helped me get it from there. The problem was the steel gear detent also has a small passage cut on the backside . The Valve body has a small pin that fits INSIDE this passage. When i put the valve body back in i had this pin on the OUTSIDE of the GEAR DETENT PASSAGE, so it would not let the truck shift out of park. I took the shift cable off the side of the trans and that let the DETENT move freely till i could " manuver" the pin into the backside of the DETENT, then all lined up and i reinstalled the pan and refilled the trans. WHEW!!!!:D Feel free to contact me as i "some" knowledge now that i did it. I 'd be glad to help. What a terible feeling to have problems on the weekend when no one is available to call. Im glad Eric was in!!!

cumminstrokthis 01-15-2007, 12:17 AM Tim- How much fluid did it end up taking to filler back up?
BMDMAX 01-15-2007, 12:34 AM Congrats on the trans Tim! Hope it really rips for you now.
fearnot 01-16-2007, 12:56 PM Great job. I did mine on the same day you did yours. Success here too.
Yeah us ! !
p.s. wish I had thought of the cable disconnect thing first also. It certainly would have made getting the pin in place while installing the valve body much easier. I did get it all right the first time though.

It took about 10 -11 Qts IIRC. I bough 4 gal of transynd to be safe. BTW Great Job FEARNOT!!!:D
