I have the banks exhaust on my CC/LB and love the sound although I wouldn't mind if it were a bit louder. I am thinking about just straightpiping it but don't know or anywhere locally that can make up a piece to replace the muffler that I can clamp in rther than welding. I want to be able to put the muffler back on if I don't like the sound or the local boys ticket me for it! Anyone have this done already or know of somewhere I can get the piece made up?
Thanks again

Yes I know how. Go to a big rig parts place (call around), they have or can get you a straight 4" exhaust pipe. Then find the connector pieces. IF you need further help connect me (PM), I have done this straight pipe thing and made it possible to put the muffler back in WITHOUT welding or cutting anything. As a matter of fact I still have some left over 4" pipe in the attic. Where do you live?

bought a couple of slip joint reducers and clamps and such and straight piped my kennedy 4-5" exhaust. Sounds gooooodhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif Cops dont think so thoughhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Go to a big rig shop and they should be able to peice something together. I had to weld the reducer to a short peice of 4" and cut the 4" to lenght but once I built it it can be swaped for the muffler in a couple of minutes since the muffler has the big SS band clamps on it.

Can you do the same thing with the stock exhaust?

I just measured and I need about 38 inches of 4inch because the banks muffler has about 12 inchs of piping before it meets the tailpipe section. I think that a 40 inch section of 4inch will do the trick, that way I can cut it down to size and even more if I have to weld on ends to make it slide over banks sections. I will try to snap a picture.
