: Finding Dealers with DMax Techs
AndrewFessler 08-10-2004, 11:00 AM Is there an 800 number or a database somewhere that lists what dealers employ Diesel techs?
I know that not all GM dealers have a diesel tech on staff, but I don't know which ones and I dont want to take my truck to a dealer who is gonna have some gas flunky poking around my truck.
If there is no database or central place to call, I guess I just start calling dealers in the phone book?
Hustler 08-10-2004, 03:47 PM I was thinking about the samething. The dealer that I bought my truck at is about 90 miles away. I don't to have to go that far if I ever need work to be done on mine.
dmaxalliTech 08-10-2004, 11:32 PM 616-218-8466...thats the only call you'll ever need to konw for you both... your somewhat local compared to alot of my customershttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

AndrewFessler 08-11-2004, 10:25 PM Eric,
Do you really want me to drive 5 hours to have you check for a tranny issue (heh) or to replace the instrument cluster lights that go out and come on when I hit the dash? Or the weird suspension problem from the front end, like a bushing is worn?
What about the crappy ride from my shocks which I think are worn out. :)
What about the drivers door that will open to far and now I have to always hold it from opening all the way?
Heh, I am just a big complainer . .
dmaxalliTech 08-11-2004, 11:28 PM Andrew, when you got here, I would just give ya the ol " could not duplicate" and send ya packin..http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

LanduytG 08-12-2004, 06:49 AM Speaking of shock they sure feel worn out to me. I have never been in a new vehicle that has as much frontend action as this one.

AndrewFessler 08-12-2004, 08:18 AM I bet you would Eric. - - HEHEHE! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
I did figure, I'd prolly come your way if I ever did do a tranny upgrade since everyone seems to prefer you on this side of the country.
Oh, I forgot to mention the A/C problem, above 86 degrees. ;)
txguppy 08-12-2004, 03:13 PM Hey Andrew, none of those problems have anything to do with the Duramax; therefore, a good Duramax diesel Tech would not be able to do you justice. Maybe you are just looking for a reputable service tech/dealership? Good Luck http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

GRMax 08-12-2004, 07:25 PM Andrew, your local dealership should be able to resolve those things you need taken care. I used to go to my reputable local Chevy dealer who has a fine diesel tech. This does not make them good on Dmaxs. Eric solved all my Dmax issues when I finally went to him while my Chevy dealer was still giving me great service with lots of hand holding and smiles as I went next door to Eric. Its easy for me as I live in Grand Rapids and If I did not, I would be making a trip once a year to wherever erci was and letting my local dealer handle small stuff. Chuck
GRMax 08-12-2004, 07:27 PM You have heard this from others before but, a set of Bilsteins will make you wonder why you did not do it sooner. Chuck

Shocks Man! you got to buy shocks!
Sorry to tell you that GM went to low bidder on those puppies. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
AndrewFessler 08-13-2004, 09:48 AM Hey All, I do realize "any" local dealer can fix those issues I stated. I was just using them as an example as to why I didn't want to drive 4 hours to Eric ;)
My concern arose when the nearest local dealer informed me they do not have a DMax tech on staff. Prompting my post here.
I do plan on a set of new shocks in a couple months. My factory ones have 24k on them now.
