what are you guys running other than the high dollar kits
also what is needed to install, i know the basics like relays and such i was thinking either a holley or 6.5 pump was thinking if the 6.5 pump went out i could pick one up local, and they are also pretty quiet.
do i just tee the pump in the feed line at the tank and hook up some type of power source (monetary on relay on acc., then pump on when in run position) hopeing this will help in the starts and dies club i'm in

Cheapest and fairly reliable is the Carter pump, about $90 at Jegs or Summit.
You need to hook it up to a relay that is activated by ign.

I have been running Kennedy dual lift pumps for over a year. They have worked great. Took about 1 hour to hook up completely. Nice set-up with harness and over ride.

I picked up my Carter fuel pump from Ebay for $50. Its fairly quiet and easy to install. Total time for me to install was about 2hrs. You just have to go to the hardware and get a barb fitting and 1/2" fuel line to install. Wire up thru the floor to your fuse panel. I have used it for about 2 months with no problems.

I bought my pump from getGMparts, part # FD0031 Soleniod fuel pump. Also, added a Painless wiring electric fuel pump relay, Holley fuel pump safety switch. I've had on for over two years with no problems. This pump is very quiet. I had a Holley "RED" fuel pump before this one which was very noisy. Bought a "Add-a-Fuse" for the relay, and fuel hose & fittings.

I just cut out approx 1' of fuel line under the drivers seat. Then used 1/2" fuel line that slipped over the existing fuel line and onto the barb fittings I put on the fuel pump. Fairly simple to install. Wired up to the fuse panel inside the drivers door (so it comes on with the key). I tried to post a picture but I first have to find a way to shrink it, so when i do i will post a picture of it. As far as regulating the pump, I would say you are safe with the way it is. I believe i read here that the Carter fuel pumps put out 10-11psi. You dont have to regulate down until 14-15psi. Anything over that, there is a chance of causing the motor to surge at idle.

depending on where you mount it........ it might be pretty noisey. I mounted it on the frame under the cab and it drove me nuts. It also set some codes and made the engine run funky. I pulled it off and havent used it since. I am now thinking of going with JK's single.

My Carter pump is a P74143. Mine hasnt thrown a code yet (not to say it wont in the future). It does have a small "hummm" when the key is turned on but not obnoxious at all. Once the truck is turned on, there is no way to hear it. I was going for a low cost lift pump, since Im not making a whole lot of HP. Total mine came to about $75 (pump and fittings). Still working on pics.

Dual FM100's worked for me on my 03. Had the atvantage of aux filtration built in as well. Dont know if a single would be up to the task or not as I never tried.
