Curious where aside from greasecar.com I can get the parts for a greasel conversion. $800 is a lot of money for the kit when I can have my dads work fab a stainless or aluminum tank with internal heating coils for pennies on the dollar, but I still need to know where I can get the filter as well as some other parts.

Ebay for the filter, a hydraulic hose shop will have the best plumbning parts, and your local automotivve store fro the remainder. Do use real high quality valves&fittings, or you will have some headaches. You can also get all teh parts from Summit Racing, but it costs as much as a Greasel kit, as Greasel buys in bulk. You cne also get most parts at pick n pull, but some will usualy fail in short order. I think I spent about $100 on plumbing, and $85 on a 6" Racor filter. Salvaged a custom aluminum tank.

I got a Racor 1000FG filter with heater from a big truck salvage yard. It was around $20 IIRC.

I bought most of my parts from McMaster-Carr with other coming from JC Whitney. I bought my tanks from a Marine wholesaler in Texas, and I bought the Racor from a local diesel part store. I was able to make my own "triple bypass" tubing (Like from Greasel) by using 2"-1" heat shrink tubing (from Mcmaster) and heater hose and fuel line from JC Whitney. I also used a 6 port fuel valve from Whitney that elimated the need for the brass bleed valve that Greasel uses. If you are interested I can post part numbers and prices.

I was on vacation and away from my computer. I will post pics and p/n's soon. I've gone 3000 miles and used less than $75 of diesel. I have noticed no difference in power or fuel mileage. I am still in shock as to why this hasn't caught on more. By the way, I pulled and injector to check for coking and it was clean. My only regret the size of the tank I put in. I used a 12 gallon marine tank and lower than 1/4 full I have problems in town will starts and stops, there are no baffles and it starts sucking air.
