I'd like to get a bed extender so I can carry more stuff and fit my longer surfboards in the bed of my truck. It's a 6.5 ft box, and I'm using a Snuglid bed cover.

Here are the three I can find.

">The Standard GMC one (http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/gmgoodwrenchjsp/accessories/accessorydetail.jsp?make=gmc&model=sierra&year=2004&detail=pickup_box_extender&sid=3373989736870278
<br / target=)

Very Ingenious Solution (http://www.marketlaunchers.com/straschewski.html)

Another one from CIPA (http://www.cipausa.com/newproducts/bedextenderb.jpg)

Does anybody have any of these and what are your thoughts and feerback? Thanks

Next time get a truck with a 8 foot bed. The gate capacity is only 400 lbs. Hit a few bumps and you have a bent gate or broken cables

i don't want to put any weight on it, just enclose my surfboards. i'll take the parking ease of the standard box any day.

I got the bed extender with my new truck from the dealer. Basically it sucks, the only way to install it is by flipping it 90 degrees to the bed and it slides in. The problem is that usually when I have something in the bed like a quad, it prevents me from rotating the gate 90 degrees, so it stays in the garage.

yeah, the dealer one looks kinda cheap. i like this one: Ready-Ramp (http://readyramp.com/)

I have the GM one too, handy to have, but what ever is in the bed can't be any taller than the unit lifted at a 90* or you can't lock it in.

Great for loads of plywood, drywall. etc . . . something tall, a major PITA.

Nicely made unit.
