: Finger stick, do I need to keep it?

I have my blocker plate installed. Its been in for a couple days with no codes. Is this long enough to tell if I'm going to throw a code?
Also, I will be getting an MBPR 4 inch in a while. I heard this could throw codes as well. Should I keep the finger for this even if not needed for the EGR?

I would keep it... Even if its not acting up right now, you might see troubles down the rd where you might wish youd kept it...

Some codes have to occur several times before they will show up as a "check engine" code, so yes, hang on to the finger stick.

The 4" MBRP system won't throw codes (CAT back), but if you opt to remove the CAT, the codes are likely to occur.

i'm in the same boat. i have 5 inch full system, and just installed my blocker. no codes yet, but i'm hanging onto the fingerstick. i figure if i sold it, it would probably throw a code the next day. my luck.

Does the code for a 4' turbo back system cause poor engine performance? I think I read it in Kennedy's notes on his web site.

well i just rolled the dice today.. installed the 4in mrbp cat back last week and blocker went in today. I am going to wait on the stick and hope I don't throw a code....

I stand corrected, I'd always read that you won't throw codes until the cat was removed. But there are many exceptions to the rule in the mechanical world!

It's good to know, too. I just went out to the garage to contemplate the install of my MBRP 4" system. I have the cat back and the down pipe, but was just going to install the cat back system for now. Think I'll wait another day.

I'm also curious if the thrown code will affect the performance until it clears. Anyone with experience on this? If it's just an annoying message, I could live with that until I purchase the finger stick......:o:

I had the same question with the code and performance issues. I haven't had anybody chime in yet but, on Kennedy's website I believe there is some information that says that the exhaust codes may affect performance? I have now installed the 4" MBRP turbo back with the fingerstick and EGR blocker. I would install the fingerstick and EGR blocker to be safe. It is fairly easy to do and will set your mind at ease.
