so, i have to repaint my bed and fix a big boo boo i put in my truck last week. iv been tosing the idea around of cuting teh bed between the cab and wheel well to havea door that's hinged to the bed, and building a mount to hold a tool box inside the bed side. has anyone done this to a long bed d-max befor? i have been searcthing and havnt seen much/anything realy about anyone doing this. seems easy and could give me a nice bit of extra storage.
thanks

If you remember the old tv show "THE FALL GUY", the side of bed hinged open and he had a a tool box. Pretty good idea, but looks like it would be tons of work.......I am sure that as soon as you built it, someone would ram you in the side.....lol
Show us pics if you build it!

I've seen it on a couple trucks before, looks like a LOT of bodywork and a lot of fab work...

I always wanted to do that, but it seems like a lot of work for not really that big of a area. Some older fords had that, late 70s models I think...
