Does anyone know were I can find a wastegate bushing and shaft for a GM-3 turbo. I've looked around the internet and even at complete kits but can't seem to find a bushing or shaft.

No input? no one in the 6.5 comunity has had a wastegate bushing wear out? Only 18 views, Hmmm, I should have included in the title of this post "A naked Paris Hilton needs turbo shaft" I think that would of got more intrest than 18 views.

The long and short of it is - no.

That is not a serviceable part - the GM-3 was discontinued 14 years ago.

New GM-8's in the back of Diesel Power Mag for 650 - bolts right up, works fine, lasts a long time

I can get a complete rebuilt GM-3 but not just a bushing. The remanufacturers of these turbo's must have new bushings. It's probably easiest to just get one made up at a machne shop. Thanx.

FYI - GM-8 has several upgrades over the -3 to improve efficiency, notably in the area of reduced exhaust back pressure and compressor output - requires adapting the WG controller, only, easily done with the widely available adjustable controller.

gmctd, agreed if I were getting a rebuilt I would upgrade to the GM-8 (if they allow for mine as a core) but I've had the turbo checked out at a injection/turbo shop a few miles ago, they felt the turbo was in good shape other than the wastegate bushing and maybe the shaft. They are worn because the wastegate would open at only 4lb boost, now with it opening at 8-10lbs it rarely opens.
