Be happy that fuel is still cheaper then gas out there. Here in the St. Louis, MO area, gas is now cheaper then fuel and I can't remember the last time that happened.

In the last week or so oil went from $38/barrel to over $44/barrel. That's over 15% increase in price. The more slimey gas station operators instantly increase the prices at the pump. The rest wait for the new prices to more closely filter through the distribution pipeline.

I think you'll find Diesel prices more closely connected to long term supply stability and gasoline connected to short term price flucuations in Crude prices.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif All it is is when a war is happening they find excuses to raise prices on everything. After about a month in the war, some lumber doubled in prices and gas in constantly on the rise. There is alot of people who make a ton of money during war-sad but true. You will never see it go for a $1.00 a gallon anymore. They know you will pay it now. About 2 years ago, someone was talking about making a fuel cell system (like in the space shuttle) that would get around 150+ mpg's. It doesn't matter though, if all cars got that they would charge $5+ per gallon, and you wouldn't be any better off.---MHO

Get used to it. I tried to get a boycott going, but no one was interested. Until people get organized and start doing something about it......

No, not as a boat. I got the nickname when I was in High School a long time ago because I had a sleeper car that always made me money street racing. Then I got it as my call name while in the Marine Corps. After that I got into pool playing and the name stuck with me again because people say I am a hustler when it comes to playing pool. I don't understand that, because I can't play poolhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

As far as gas and fuel prices, I can get regular gas for $1.62 to $1.65. Cheapest place for fuel is @ dirt cheap for $1.66 or at a regular gas station its $1.69 to $1.70

Diesels around $2.10 - $2.20 per gallon here in SoCal. Most people here are so used to getting ripped off, nobody complains anymore.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

The Diesel price has not moved all summer, now it is going up and gas has stayed the same. The news is saying oil price has again broken a record. If oil is at the highest then why is the price of gas not moving?

FYI, Exxon, Mobil, and the rest of the oil thieves have recorded record profits this past quarter. Good for them!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Hustler, I let you know what the price of fuel is in Franklin county.

Diesel from BP at exit 11 I-24 is now up from $1.659 to $1.799 in less than two weeks. That puts the cost within two cents of unleaded gas.

Just like how "OC" mentioned about being used to getting ripped-off, we'll keep paying because of necessity and the oil guys will think we are oK with the prices. So then they'll never return to where we want them.

Diesel should be cheaper, because it needs less refining.
I just did a quick conversion.... diesel up here is .749 cents. Converting to U.S. gals is $2.92 http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Now we know who is really getting screwed.

At the exchange rate today that is $2.14 US per US gal. I just filled today with Sunoco Gold for .699 per L. = $2.00US per US gal.

Cheapest fuel I saw in ET yesterday was 1.69 at Exit 36 on I-81. Next cheapest was 1.71 at Exit 417 on I-40. Get closer to Knoxville and you'll pay 0.05-0.10 more.

Someone predicted in the next twenty years that the price of gas and heating oil are going to go through the roof. What we have seen is nothing. There will be more wars fought over oil. Apparently that is part of the war in Iraq (so it was mentioned to me)
As we become more and more dependant on it, oil will go up even more. It was a thought that the oil companies will even drill in Yellow Stone National Park, as oil reserves deplete even more.

I'm sorry - but if the war in Iraq was really about oil - we would've just taken everything over, and the oil price would be going down, not up.
