I'm planning on going into my motor next month, but I've got some concerns about pistons. Would it be a good idea to drop the compression on my existing pistons? I guess what I am getting at is, do pistons get weaker(more prone to failing) over a time of say 85,628 miles?:D

I'm not metalurgist (sp???), but I do believe the answer could go either way. Some materials actually get stronger to a point due to work hardening (ie ring and pinions), but there's a fine line where too much stress is induced and metal fatique sets in. I guess you need to realistically set what you are going to do to the motor, be honest with yourself about what you did with the current motor (nos, propane, meth, high egts, general abuse, etc), talk to guys like Merchant, and let them give you their opinions and go from there. I know it's not an "answer", but I hope it helps.
