Right now my truck is bone stock. It only has 30,000 miles and the tranny has never been stressed. I want to upgrade the tranny so I don't have to worry about it when I start doing power upgrades. Can I get away with just a Transgo kit and a new torque converter? Or should I go for the Suncoast Stage III? I'm not doing anything huge on power. Just exhaust and an Edge Juice w/ ***. I would maybe like to upgrade to the Hot Juice though.

Suncoast 3 is what you need.

A transgo kit and converter is good for 500RwHp. From what you've said that should cover you just fine and save you a few bucks. You can spend more but the Transgo and converter will do what your asking for no problem.

Pulling the tranny is a big job I would do all I could while it was out.

You never know what your are going to decide to do with it in the future.
If one were to choose a tuner that would put the engine output up to 450-475 HP (No More), what would be the difference between going with a suncoast III and suncoast IV tranny upgrade? Would they both feel identical and the IV is just "overkill" or would there be a difference in the feel of each one? I ask because I wonder if the only reason one should purchase a stage IV is solely because he plans to upgrade to 500+ HP.
I have read a lot but really don't have much first hand experience !!
My take is this and this is the direction I am going :
A transgo and convertor probably can do a whole lot.......but one guys may hold up better than anothers. The TC and shift kit intalled is at least $2500(and they're pretty deep into your trans.). A SCIII is only $1000 more but you are pretty much assured that you have plenty of trans. for most of what you can throw at it (new clutches and so forth)!!
A SCIV......seems to really be best for people running twins, big big hp, nitrous, propane, sled pulling, serious drag racing , etc. !! A SCIII should be "more" than most of us need for 100-200 rwhp tunes and daily driving (Juice on 5, Predator on 100, PPE Hot,etc.) !!
I am getting a SCIII and spending my extra $600 on lift pumps instead of a SCVI !!

Great reply, What do you PRO'S think ??, I want suncoast upgrades too but if a SC III will do it fine for street playing and occasional blasts down the track why should one spend more for a SC IV ?-- Thanks.:D
