Hello to all. I just joined this forum and look forward to sharing ideas.

I just picked up an 01 2500 with 54K miles and 6 speed manual tranny. The truck was originally purchased at the dealer that I bought it from and the sales manager called the original owner and I was able to ask questions.

The truck has 5" stainless exhaust, edge juice w/attitude monitor, and a CAI (not sure of the brand). The owner indicated that he has had no problems with either the tranny or injectors. Hopefully I won't either. It is very clean inside and out.

I had a dodge cummings a few years ago but when I decided to go back to diesel I wanted a duramax.

I think so. As you probably know, any diesel sells at a premium here in the KCMO area. I gave 20K for it. I traded an 04 Ford 150 that I had just purchased about 5 months ago so unfortunatly there wasn't much play room in the deal.

Mine stickered for 28 when I bought mine.. by the time I threw in tires and programmers I was at 23,5 on an 02 dmax with 59k all the chrome you see, tool box, and remote start

How do you like the remote start? How does it handle the glow plug wait? I had one on the f150 and loved it but thought about using the block heater on the duramax... hopefully it won't wake the neighbors at 5:30 am.

It might.. :D There are a few ways to hook it up I guess.. Max Power told me the right way.. and the guys that did mine did it the wrong way.. lol Mine has a set to wait.. 25 or 30 sec.. I hate that.. the other way is that it starts as soon as the glow plugs shut off I guess..

I LOVE MINE!

great buy!!!welcome to the forum....this is a great place!!!!there's more help here than any other place in the net. most remote starts can be programed to detect glo plugs or a wait time can be added like a 20 second delay which is plenty of time for glo plugs. i've had mine for three years now and no problems yet.

is yours the wait to start.. or glo? I am wanting to change mine.. I hate waiting that long.. sometimes on the walk to the truck it still hasn't started when I get in...
