Well, I was out and about cruising Woodward this past weekend. Turns out I got beat good by a dodge. Don't worry though, it was a SRT-10 Pickup. I didn't have much of a chance against 500hp and a lot less weight! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

There were however, many other surprised looks on individuals faces in muscle cars who thought they had fast rides. Thanks to Edge for letting me run with them stoplight to stoplight....

This truck is fuuuun http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

He shouldn't have beat you to bad. At Bandimere a couple weekends ago I was watching stock lightnings run really high 14's and IBDMAXIN was running right at 15.0 with just the juice on 145hp. There was only one SRT-10 and he was running mid 14's consitantly. He seemed to shift really well though so I think someone that didn't know what they were doing would be high 14's. Either way, stack a program on top and you should have him http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

Yeah, he just gave it enough to get by me, just to let me know he had me. I'm only running level 3 till I get upgraded tranny. We went till about 60. I'm hoping a suncoast III and juice on level 5 and I should be hard to beat stoplight to stoplight? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Yes, woodward michigan. Next weekend is the dream cruise. An unimaginable amount of muscle/classic cars. They're already all over. It makes for some fun cruising!

The best is peoples reactions parked on the street when they see the dmax light them up in 1st and the squeal them good in 2nd. Certainly not something they're expecting.

I am not a Dodge fan but that Viper engine in a P/U is a real killer with instant throttle responce to the drivers whims. I would be hard to beat one of those even with a boosted Dmax because by the time you got the boost pressure up, it would be gone if they really laid on it. I good running start would be your only chance. The 05's are supposed to be even stronger.

Nah, they're not hard to beat with a big box, some boost at the line, and a tranny to back it up http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif If you are boosted in 4wd at the start line, you'll take off every bit as fast as them and pull on them on the top end.

Stop and go traffic, you couldn't beat that Viper engine for instant throttle response though.

Yeah but you are forgetting that you may boost your torque to 700 lbs or more but the RPM range were this is really usuable is about 500RPM and it drops of rapidly either side of the peak. The Viper motor while making "only" 500 ft lbs or so can make that to well past 5000RPM and has a 3000rpm + power band that can really make a vehical scoot when asked too.

mid 14s ?,

I would think the SRT-10s are faster than that. Don't see how I could compete with one on the highway.

Maybe in an 1/8th mile if he was stock and on street tiresEdited by: gmccall

I'm not forgetting that. I'm not saying that it's a slow engine by any means. I only said that in a race sense, you *could* beat it given the right circumstances. I raced a little nitrous injected car from 30mph several nights ago and he pulled me by 5+ lengths while my truck downshifted and the turbo got up to speed... He was shooting nitrous as soon as he hit the throttle so he jumped my like I was standing still, but once my truck started moving, it was over. I closed that gap and overtook him like he was standing still at about 70mph.

The bottomline, on the track, you can beat one.

The times were there. I thought they were a little high myself, but the were consitent and the lightnings were close.
