Has anyone here painted their plastic bed rail caps?? I didnt find any info or topics in a search...Also, does anyone know the brand of the rail that not only covers the rail, but also covers the inside lip as well? My old one had them on there, but they came on it when i bought it so dont know the brand.

My other option is that im planning on getting my box line-xed(black, prolly). But im not exactly thinking i want my rails done in black. Perhaps if i could get just the rails done match to greystone, but i bet itll be pricey to that little bit...Guess ill have to make a couple calls on that one.

So anyone painted their caps?

I called 2 Line-x places yesterday and neither one of them will color match. One said theyve tried it, but couldnt keep it from fadding, the other never messed w/it...
A local truck store has a set of Wade railcaps, so now im really considering the painted rail caps. I just dont think the black over the rails w/mix good w/the graystone color and toolbox...
So any experience w/painted caps?

I haven't painted (or installed yet, for that matter) my bed rail caps, but mine do cover the inside lip. I have Bushwacker caps. I think I'm just gonna leave mine black, becuase they're probably gonna see some abuse. ;)

Caps would look good in stainless or the diamond plated aluminum .

The wade ones i found do cover the inside edge... So set there... I think im going to get them and then set them on w/the toolbox and see how it looks...

Looked at these as well.. Have not had overly good luck w/diamond plated ones in the past. Peel off in a couple yrs... Im too cheap for the stainless ones...:o:

I'm sorry to ask this, but what is the point of painted bed rail caps? I mean, the only reason you'd put plastic bed rail caps on would be so that they take the abuse and not the paint.

Im thinking of color matching them to the color of my truck, because Im not sure how i will like the black color of the caps against the greystone color of the truck...
