Okay, everyone's been using atf in their transfer cases, but after I changed mine (at 60,000 and looked better than I thought it would for that mileage) I read in the manual that it takes AUTO-TRAK II fluid with a GM part number. What gives? The manual case takes atf and the electronic takes the other stuff. Anybody know? Thanks.

It's hard to tell from your signature what exactly your truck is, but if it has the D/A then it does not take autotrak fluid. Do a search and you'll find all of the info about what you need for your transfercase.

Thanks Hound. Yes the supplement has the info and the manual is the general info for all the silverados. I also went to transynd for the case and will change again at 75,000. On another topic, I just changed the oil in my dmax at nearly 10,000 without a change oil light. I use rotella 15-40 and I have the oil gaurd bypass, but I just couldn't wait any longer for the light to come on. I sent an analysis out and am awaiting the results.
