After reading everything ya'll good people have posted on filtration, the post OEM Racor 660 R2 seemed like the least painless route, found a local marine dealer who got me the 660 setup with a metal bowl for 109 with one element, still have to get the hoses and fittings, but my question is, noticed some of ya'll put a bleeder valve on the top of the filter head, any specific type should work I imagine, as long as the threads work. I will take a plethora of pictures on the install if you guys need or want to see them. Not entirely sure they ordered the right one, will know for sure tommorow.Edited by: Wickedsprint

One thing that seemed odd was I understood this to be a 60gph setup, and they claim it flows 90, so we'll see.

I and a few others used an all brass radiator petcock.

Also not sure why you opted for the metal bowl. That is for gasoline as far as I know.Edited by: hoot

Just got off the horn, they sold me the 660 for the gasoline engine, good call on your part Hoot, so now got her tracking down the 660 for the diesel application, also thanks for that petcock picture.

This is probably a stupid question. How do you deal with priming a post OEM filter?
