Hey guys who are you guys getting aftermarket cams from?? I am having my heads re-worked and thought it would be a good time to get the cams swapped. I am going to switch to a hybrid GT4547 :D from Forcedinductions, and I want some more rpm and top end flow. How much are the cams as well? Thanks

There are a few people offering cams. TTS has a few different choices, Comp Cams has 3 i believe, and SoCaldiesel lists them as well. i might have missed some people so if i did i apologize

You can see ours on our web site but you will eed to clearance the pistons to get any real gain from a camshaft swap. Things are just to close for a good gain. If you looking for just alittle bump we can supply one that bolts in but you will not gain alot.

I'm happy to help you with a cam choice.
As Diesel Tech pointed out, your choice on whether or not to machine valve reliefs in the piston will play a big role in the overall effectiveness of the camshaft.
I'd like to know some more specifics regarding your build.
Give me a call and we can chat more about your specific application and a cam designed to meet your individual needs.

TTS is probably going to be the best choice. I think their's a couple other company's manufacturing them, but TTS has had their's out the longsest and trucks like Nick's cant even break'em:) .

What kind of power gains are we talking with 55-60psi and ported heads over stock cams?? I have dual pumps so fuel is not a problem, I just need to move lots of air. I am just hoping to get another 30-40rwhp out of cams...but not sure if they will net me that much.

With the proper machine work and tuning our Race camshaft is good for about 70 Hp at 3600RPM. The trick needs to be to understand what engine speed your looking for the gains in. If your a sled puller the Race cam fits the bill as you run up to 4000 RPM then let the sled pull you back down to about 3000 which means your moving from just above peak Hp and going down towards peak torque with our Race camshaft design. If you've got questions feel fre to give us a call.

The flow characteristics of the cylinder head play a big part in determining the cam design. It is possible to move a tremendous amount of air into and out of the engine and not use any of it to make power. So be careful what you wish for. Sometimes bigger isn't always better.
I stock a couple of generic cam grinds that are a "one size fits all" so to speak but prefer to design and grind the cam around your specific application.
