: Want remote start
LanduytG 08-08-2004, 06:40 AM I have done a search but can't find what I am looking for. I want a remote starter only. I already have power door locks and don't care about an alarm system and I want to install it myself. I don't want to go through the installer hassel.
I have looked at all the name brands but all come with stuff I don't want. I can't see taking out the factory system when it works fine.
Greg
Max Power 08-08-2004, 09:48 AM I highly recommend the Astro Start line. www.astroflex.com (http://www.astroflex.com)
There is no need to remove and of the OEM equipment. If you go with a model like the 2106xr you will have a new transmitter with 6 buttons. Lock, unlock, start, stop, panic, trunk. Obviously the trunk is not used but you can use it to turn on auxilary features. I really having serpate buttons for all the often used functions. You will also get 2000-2600 feet of range.
PM me your email address and I will send you off complete installation instructions and specific truck wiring information. It is not difficult with the correct parts and good help.
Let me know if you are intersted in any of the astro start line and I will get you a good price if you want.
Max Power 08-08-2004, 09:51 AM One more thing, I highly recommend soldering all connections. So if you know how to solder that would be a big plus.
LanduytG 08-08-2004, 10:24 AM Yes I would like to see the install instructions. I could use the aux to start my Espar heater too. This model sounds like what I want. Can you get two way without having to use a bunch of other stuff? Email is in the signature.
Thanks
Greg
LanduytG 08-08-2004, 10:26 AM Never mind I see the 4202 is a stand alone 2 way.
Greg
Max Power 08-08-2004, 12:50 PM I'm not at home right now but I will get it all to you later this afternoon.
I'll send you the install instructions on the 4204, let me know if you want instructions for any others.
LanduytG 08-08-2004, 01:07 PM Could you send them for the 2106 as well?
Thanks Greg
Max Power 08-08-2004, 01:09 PM You bet.
baimpala 08-08-2004, 02:25 PM Max Power,
Did you swap your Astro Start into the new truck? Is yours the 2106xr?
Thanks,
Dennis
Max Power 08-08-2004, 05:47 PM No I put a new one in my new truck.
I have a 5204
Max Power 08-08-2004, 09:16 PM Greg you have mail. It is about 10Meg so if you don't get it, let me know and I will upload it to a server for you to download.
yamahagrizzly 08-08-2004, 09:55 PM hey max power where did u get yours? and how much did it cost? i like that one.
Max Power 08-08-2004, 11:22 PM I sell and install them. Cost depends on the installer. What state are you in?
yamahagrizzly 08-09-2004, 06:51 AM well i am in the mass. could you give me a rough estimate on what it would cost? and is their any way of finding a dealer near me?
Max Power 08-09-2004, 10:02 AM I'll try to find a dealer near you. I'll get back to you. For the 2106 you would be looking at about $250-350 installed. The 4104 would be about another $100 higher. If you want to drive here I'll give you a great deal. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
Greg, I sent you info for an 04 which is the same as an 03 as well. If this is the wrong year let me know so I can send you the proper info.
baimpala 08-09-2004, 11:14 AM Does the Astrostart recognize the dual remote control memory seat position and settings features or would everything remain set for 'Driver 1?' Wife is 14" shorter than me and I like the dual seat position memory activated by the remote.
Although, I can't figure out why, since she STILL hasn't driven it yet!
Thanks,
DennisEdited by: baimpala

I am in Georgia..
Mike
Max Power 08-15-2004, 03:02 AM baimpala, ygm.
Lonewolf867, I will send that off to you tomorrow. Just in case I forget, send me a pm monday. Thanks.
LanduytG 09-10-2004, 06:11 PM Its in and it works!!!! Installed the Astro Start that Max Power sells. The install looked a little over whelming at first but Tony sold me all the right stuff to make it a very easy installation. The best part is it worked the first time after I programed it.
I do recommend doing it at a time when the interruptions are at a minimum. I started it yesterday afternoon and the the phone started to ring every other minute. But I got to finish it this afternoon without to many interruptions.
If someone wants to install one I have good notes and all the programming wrote down. This would help so you would not have to call Tony.
Greg
I big THANKS to Tony for all the help. Edited by: LanduytG
